Palin re-tweet raises questions

(CNN) – Normally, it’s what Sarah Palin tweets that makes news. This time it’s what she has re-tweeted.

The former Alaska governor Monday relayed a comment from gay conservative pundit Tammy Bruce, who was expressing her criticism over continued Republican opposition to the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell military policy that won congressional repeal late last month.

Now the political world is wondering just what Palin meant to express.

"But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already–the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed,” Bruce’s original tweet read that was subsequently relayed by Palin.

Bruce was thrilled with Palin’s re-tweet, saying it constitutes a clear signal the former Republican vice presidential nominee is a friend of the gay community.

“I think @SarahPalinUSA RT my tweet is her first comment on DADT, treatment of gays & attempts to marginalize us–thank you Governor,” Bruce replied.

The Republican pro-gay rights group GOProud, of which Bruce holds a leadership role, also highlighted Palin's “Gay Friendly” tweet Tuesday in an e-mail to reporters.

Palin hasn't said anything more on the issue so it remains unclear exactly what she meant to convey, but the re-tweet is a rare comment from Palin when it comes to any issue involving gay rights – a likely hot-button issue in upcoming Republican primary presidential campaign given the recent repeal of the long- running military policy that forbade gay service members to serve openly.

It could also be a sign the former Alaska governor's stance on social issues beyond that of abortion is less understood by Republicans and Democrats alike than was previously believed.

A Palin spokesperson was not immediately available for comment but Rebecca Mansour, a Palin aide, subsequently expressed skepticism on Twitter that the media would take notice of Palin re-tweeting “something that stands [with] gays.”

Come on now. Even her idiot followers can figure this one out: PALIN HIT THE WRONG BUTTON! She meant to press DELETE not RE-TWEET!
Let us enjoy the silence we now have from the Half-term twit. "How", her little bird-brain half-wit mind is wondering, "am I going to clean this one up and profit from it?".

How does Palin re-tweeting something about gay rights have ANYTHING to do with her opinion on abortion!? Not that the Political Ticker is ever all that groundbreaking in its style, but man, this article is particularly badly written.

How is this news? The fact that this moron can even type out a message is surprising enough, but I'm over it.

If I was Ms.Bruce,I would not get too excited about what Sarah Palin "tweets".To start with,Palin is too much toward the far "Christian Right",to ever truly understand gays and their issues. I also firmly believe two thiings:1.Anybody who only"tweets"to express tings, behind hidden doors[especially when she does not accept tweets&emails BACK to her],and who uses the same old and tired slogans to incite folks, cannot be tken seriously on anything.#2.My opinion, for whatever its worth,is that Palin is a very uneducated and low class person~hardly suitable to be giving advise to others, and certinly NOT material for any high Govt.office, much less being President. What are people thinking to pay any attention to this woman? Shows what bad shape our country is in.

Can we stop trying to mine these garbled tweets for anything sensible? What matters is what a person SAYS, not what mysterious syntax they manage to mash into their one-inch long touchpad "keyboard"

She is so entertaining........the more she speaks or tweets the more she loses the chance of every being taken seriously.

Stop writing about this woman. She is using the media to enrich herself. She will not run for President. She is only using the idea that she is to make money. She will not run and spend it all. Follow thelead of other news organizatins and stop writing about her.

That's nice, but come one Tammy Bruce... "the Homos"? You should know that the proper and more friendly word used today is Gay.

Now isn't that rich – Sarah Palin attempting to make some sort of statement about hypocrisy with a re-tweet....If America hasn't learned by now that Palin is the epitome of a hypocrite, liar, quitter, grifter, and a big0t, then there is no hope for us.

CNN – Why all the Palin articles – STILL? Most of which are closed to comments. A half-term governor who quit for profits, who has zero chance of winning ANY elected office now – and you know it. Why all the promotion, CNN?????

"It could also be a sign the former Alaska governor's stance on social issues beyond that of abortion is less understood by Republicans and Democrats alike than was previously believed."

No, it's a sign that Palin doesn't understand the English language. She thought she was re-tweeting an anti-gay tweet ("Hey, everybody, let's start looking under people's beds: we might find a bunch of homos we can hate!"), instead of a tweet in support of the repeal of DADT.

    Palin is such an idiot!

Simple Sarah mistakenly thought that the tweet was about her own policy – "Don't ask, I have no idea what you are taliking about.'

Palin re-twittered it because she didn't understand what Tammy Bruce was saying. Again demonstrating her lack of intelligence.

Sarah Palin is rather libertarian on many social issues, preferring that the feds stay out of many issues. Yes, she is personally a strong Christian, but she wants to reduce the federal boot on our neck. Too bad folks automatically assume the worst of conservative Christians. As the gay conservative fellow on MSNBC said the other day, it's easier to be gay among conservatives than it is to be conservative among gays!

This woman is a moron. An idiot. She is stupid. She is a bigot. She is a grafter. She is stuck on herself. She probably has a mirror on the wall, so she can ask who the fairest of the them all is". I can tell you, its not Palin. She is a plague on this country. We can only hope she slithers back into her hole in the ground.

CNN needs to get over its infatuation with all things Sarah Palin. So she forwarded a tweet. And this is news? Really?

  25. a little sad

Palin is just trying to manufacture some cred among the LGBT community. She does not ideologically support gay rights.
