(CNN) – Normally, it’s what Sarah Palin tweets that makes news. This time it’s what she has re-tweeted.
The former Alaska governor Monday relayed a comment from gay conservative pundit Tammy Bruce, who was expressing her criticism over continued Republican opposition to the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell military policy that won congressional repeal late last month.
Now the political world is wondering just what Palin meant to express.
"But this hypocrisy is just truly too much. Enuf already–the more someone complains about the homos the more we should look under their bed,” Bruce’s original tweet read that was subsequently relayed by Palin.
Bruce was thrilled with Palin’s re-tweet, saying it constitutes a clear signal the former Republican vice presidential nominee is a friend of the gay community.
“I think @SarahPalinUSA RT my tweet is her first comment on DADT, treatment of gays & attempts to marginalize us–thank you Governor,” Bruce replied.
The Republican pro-gay rights group GOProud, of which Bruce holds a leadership role, also highlighted Palin's “Gay Friendly” tweet Tuesday in an e-mail to reporters.
Palin hasn't said anything more on the issue so it remains unclear exactly what she meant to convey, but the re-tweet is a rare comment from Palin when it comes to any issue involving gay rights – a likely hot-button issue in upcoming Republican primary presidential campaign given the recent repeal of the long- running military policy that forbade gay service members to serve openly.
It could also be a sign the former Alaska governor's stance on social issues beyond that of abortion is less understood by Republicans and Democrats alike than was previously believed.
A Palin spokesperson was not immediately available for comment but Rebecca Mansour, a Palin aide, subsequently expressed skepticism on Twitter that the media would take notice of Palin re-tweeting “something that stands [with] gays.”

I guarantee you she didn't understand the tweet.
That woman is a moron.
Palin's use of the word "homo" is extremely offensive and is equivalent to any racial or other slur of a group of people with perceived lower status. If she were not inherently homophobic, or at least ignorant, she would have chosen another word, such as "gays." If she is NOT homophobic, she is at the very least, highly uninformed. In either case, the use of the word is inflammatory. I do not think that people in public office should be setting fires; they should be putting them out.
Who the hell cares what she believes! I wish that she would just go away!
Sarah is no friend of "the gays" so don't be fooled, she's way to stupid, conservative and unenlightened to understand something as complex as human sexuality... stick to your guns Sarah and keep TRYING to kill animals.
Or it could just mean that Palin had no earthly idea what she was reading and resending. Given her attention span, that's a much more likely scenario. Do these pro-gay GOP organizations really think she would risk alientating her gay-bashing "Christian" base and come out in favor of repealing DADT. I highly doubt it.
Then again.... Maybe it's a sign that the former "half-Governor" of Alsaka REALLY is as dizzy as most people think she is!

She is unfit to be president period! If this is what the American presidency has come down we are doomed. The thought of Palin as a potential presidential contender is insulting to our intelligence. So please bring up serious topics for discussion that will help our country and encourage a civil intelligent discussion. Palin and anything to do with her will do nothing more than impoverish our emotional and intellectual intelligence. CNN enough of Palin please!!!!!!

Yes, but she still does not have what it takes to be the POTUS! For all you out there, if she ain't qualified to be POTUS, she ain't qualified to be VPOTUS either! Aaaah, a tweet grenade....she's testing response to what amounts to a relatively ambiguous and vague statement of position and doing so in a manner that allows her to deny any ownership of the statement if need be.
Palin just took a look at the poll numbers for her upcoming presidential election. She's trying to make up some ground now by appealing to a more diverse crowd. But that's going to upset your base Palin, don't piss off the only people that like you.

Knowing just how dumb Palin is, i bet she miss-re-tweeted, that is, she miss-re-interpreted the orginal message, thought it was something entirely different, ie. the opposite, and got a rush of blood to the head. Wait for it, she'll REFUDIATE it before supper.
I always associated Palin with the totality of Christian right-wing hate. Wonder if it is a trial balloon? I think many Republican hopefuls will be testing the public regarding culture war issues as Americans are shifting views and most want government to concentrate on JOBS.

Palin's in a corner with this one. If she stands by it, then the Taliban wing of the Republican party will abandon her for Huckabee. If she "refudiates" it, then she'll look like quite the hypocrite.
