Gibbs leaving White House

Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama's press secretary, Robert Gibbs, will leave the White House after the State of the Union address later this month, he told CNN Wednesday.

Gibbs will become a pundit, supporting White House positions on cable television and in speeches, White House staff said.

Gibbs was Obama's spokesman during the 2008 presidential campaign.

That is very common. WH Press Sec. is a hardcore job. They don't last long in that position.

Who can blame him? After all the bickering and fighting back and forth in the senate and house leaving him with the job of trying to put a happy face on it all. Hell, I would have quit long ago.

About time. He has been ineffective in his job of communicating with the press and the people; it cost the Democrats their House majority

R Gibbs has been one of the most intelligent and thoughtful press secretaries that I've seen over the last 50 years. I wish him nothing but the best as he goes out and tries to earn the bucks for his family.

This is good for the Obama Administration. Robert Gibbs is such a weasel, and while it's typical for Press Secretaries to claim that they know nothing, I actually think that Gibbs DOESN'T know anything.

What, he's going to cash in on his notoriety? Shocking....I thought only Republicans would do such a thing. Let me guess, MSNBC, with all of those other non-partisan talking heads.

He was a major part of the image of this White House.

He came across as arrogant and condescending.

Good riddance; starting the New Year off right here.

Gibbs has been a voice for the Administration when no one else would try to stand up there and blather half truths and otherwise avoid a straight answer. His ability to make obviously false statements, with a straight face, will be hard to replace.

Not surprised he is leaving but surprised he wants to defend Obama on cable television. He wasn't very believable as a press secretary!

He's not done a great job with the message as Press Secretary, why would they want him bloviating on cable news?

Another one bites the dust. 2011 has arrived and the new fall out of the Obama bandwagon begins to fall from under him...
The last thing I will ever lose is faith in people seeing the truth in people for what they really are.

Thank Goodness he is finally gone....but alas, to only show up as another pundit TRYING to promote Obama...NOT.

Gibbs was lucky to find another job. Most villages have already met their allowed number of idiots.

Lordie – get a real job, buddy. Whenever a 'pundit' comes on the TV screen, I already know what the jerk is going to say, and I change the channel.

So we have reached the low level of "pundit" being a real job? Our forefathers would roll over in their graves.
