(CNN) - In her first television interview since she became the Democratic leader in the House, Nancy Pelosi said William Daley, the president's choice for chief of staff, will do a good job.
"Mr. Daley does every job that he's assigned to do very well," Pelosi told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King in an interview set to air Thursday.
Daley opposed Obama's consumer financial protection agency that Elizabeth Warren now leads, and in December 2009 wrote that the democrats were doomed if they didn't move back to the center.
Watch the entire interview Thursday on CNN's "John King, USA" @ 7 p.m. ET.

This is what I LOVE about Nancy Pelosi. She is not afraid to stand up for her party when she needs to. I'm sure Mr. Daley will be fine. At least he knows business (UN)like the House Weeper & Co.
"Pelosi said she does not believe Daley's previous criticism of liberal policies reflects a change in the president's own policies. "
"Now, I wonder, why would they feel the need to exempt repeal of the ACA from rules prohibiting legislation from adding to the debt if they're so 100% cocksure that repealing the ACA doesn't add to the debt?"
Simple: they need to avoid any legislative record being created that shows what a budgetary brainfart their repeal of it would be so it's not carved in stone that they yet again ignored facts, evidence, studies, expert opinion and good sense in order to myopically adhere to ideological dogma, pander to the rich and corporate interests to the detriment of the middle-class and poor and generally play partisan political games in their neverending quest for complete and unassailable power.
And guess what nobody's talking about? That's right...the longer the ACA stays in effect, the bigger the budget deficit if you repeal it. $230B is just the STARTING figure.
Now we know how bad this appointment really is. Pelosi is on board.
"But Pelosi said she does not believe Daley's previous criticism of liberal policies reflects a change in the president's own policies."
No? Certainly sounds like the President has come out of the closet and embraced his inner "republican" to me!
It's obivious the Presidents pick was a wise decision, however I would agree with Leader Pelosi that it does not signal a shift and at the end of the day Mr, Obama is the Boss. I would also like to commenet that although I think that as Speaker Pelosi was unfairly a target and widley viewed very negatively in the Country, needs to really work quickly on repairing her image and needs to start a PR blitz where she sells her self as someone who is intouch with the American People otherwise we will have an even further shift to the right in 2012 when it pretains to Congress.
Apparently Nancy still hasn't figured out (after the 2 November "shellacking") that America doesn't care what she has to say anymore. Here is your clue you handed over the Speaker of the House gavel to John Boehner yesterday because you and your extremely liberal policies were rejected by the American people, who cared enough about this country to get out there and vote.
What, Obama appoints a new overseer from the banking industry, who just happens to be from the political power family of the most corrupt city in the country? One who for some strange reason is taking a huge power income cut to take the job. I don't see any change. Strikes me as business as usual – literally.
Golly, is Nancy waking up?
Surely she can't be that delusional?
"Mr. Daley does every job that he's assigned to do very well,"
That may be, the only problem is who's giving him his assignments, Wall Street? If that's the case middle class America, and the entire country for that matter, kiss your butts good bye. The wealthy gamblers of the "Street" are fully in charge and running wild with no one to stop them. And from the looks of it, they don't have a thing to worry about for quite some time.
Democratic leader of the House instead of House Minority Leader? Get off your knees CNN.
Sorry, Nancy but this is not the "change" I meant when I voted for President Obama.
And unlike the tea baggers I know when I have been screwed.
Do not expect me to vote for him again in 2012.
I am not accustomed to being screwed once, and then voting for him again just so I can bend over AND provide the lubricant for a second round!
He best hope he picks up enough BFF's and $2,100 from each to carry him over the threshold of victory.
I personally am ready for a primary challenger in 2012!
All Democrats should be supportive of President Obama's decision – We need to STICK TOGETHER in order to create a FORCE!!! We need to support our current leader, President Obama, as he continues to MOVE AMERICA FORWARD in a POSITIVE direction!!!
Why is this hack still in the news? didn't she loose the election for her party?
Do you really care what Pelosi has to say? I sure don't just glad she is NOT Speaker of the House anymore. Just wish she would exit the builidng and never ever come back
Pelosi answered wisely, as usual.
Obama has demonstrated time and again that he isn't so dumb, ideologically rigid and insecure that he is going to not listen to those who may oppose him on certain issues but who may also have good arguments to make for the good of the nation.
Shallow media morons have to be constantly trying to create the news; because they are too lazy to go out and uncover real news.
If Nasty Nancy's eyes sunk any further back in her head she could see out of her ears...it would be an unobstructed view through nothing but air.
Unlike the fantasy world that Pelosi lives in, Obama realizes that vilifying those who do business in America will lead to even more job losses. It sounds like he might finally be coming to his senses. The liberals scream and squawk about how business should pay more taxes, create more jobs, etc.; but the bottom line is no business needs to be in the United States anymore, other countries are far more accomodating.
No Daly just means MORE corruption in the WH. Chicago has the most corrupt politicians in the country....
Christian republicans plan to destroy health care and social security for poor people. Even though the CBO A nonpartisan agency: States that the Health-care reform bill cuts deficit by $1.3 trillion over 20 years. Republicans need tax cuts for billionaires and increased deficit; I guess.
i sure hope daley isnt as liberal as pelosi
pelosi, the woman with more cajones than cry baby.
Pelosi can look straight into your eye and, without blinking, make the most obviously oblivious statements ever heard for an elected official. I see it happen on a weekly basis, and its still amazing to watch.
