Portraying Boehner

(CNN) - It was a moment on the House floor Wednesday that instantly made for a powerful photograph – newly installed House Speaker John Boehner clearly weeping as Democrat Nancy Pelosi gets ready to hand the gavel over.

Interestingly however, only two of the major, national papers featured this memorable and unique photograph in their Thursday editions, and they both happen to share one thing in common – conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Murdoch's NewsCorp owns both the New York Post and the Wall Street Journal – the only two big papers to highlight the teary-eyed Republican. Other major papers like USA Today, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Los Angeles Times featured the more conventional image of Pelosi handing Boehner the speaker's gavel.

A picture - or maybe lackthereof - can speak a thousand words…

These photo's ought to be a really big hit overseas, especially with the Bin Laden crowd. What ON EARTH were you GOPers thinking to put this man in charge of the House?

This kind of weeping raise a big question mark. We all get emotional sometimes but not all the time. It will be nice a hand of help be provided as this looks as not normal!

I'm not sure what you are insinuating here. "Unique" means one of a kind, which, of course there are many pictures of
Boehner tearing up. A picture or "lack therof"..... meaning what? I don't get your point.

Rupert Murdoch dream is to turn our papers into the SUN or whatever else name they have in England. Make every picture look cheap and stupid. I am not a Bonehead fan but come on the guy had a moment. Why use it like a nasty thing .. Murdoch is sick.

You got that right, and here are a few of them : Shameful display of fake emotion for the strict manupulation of the feeble-minded, amnesiac-like GOTeaP base by an avaricious and selfish ex-bartender whose only goal is to incur favor with the Gods of Big Business and their wealthy minions.

Speaker Boehner, many of us who wanted you up there want you to stiffen your upper lip a bit.
    Try having one less–cry.

Maybe it is because Murdoch is the only one dumb enough to think that Boehner's reaction was actually genuine and not staged.

Just imagine how much he's going to be weeping in two years when the pendulum swings the other way and he doesn't get to be Speaker anymore. In two years the working class voters who allowed the wool to be pulled over their eyes once again by the Party of No Ideas Except Ideas That Benefit the Wealthy are going to be even more angry. In two years Democrats will not stay home again and the Weeper will have that great big gavel taken away . . . cry baby cry.

Who cares. Crying won't hide the dialing back of election promises. Surprise surprise

This is their first victory in ten years. I'm shocked. America is frustrated, no short sighted victory in any area is going to change that in my opinion.

No "liberal media" involved in this one; it was by Rupert Murdoch's hand that Boehner looked like an idiot. It won't be long before everyone who voted republican will be crying like him.....

Can anyone imagine what the Republicans would be saying if it were a Democrat who so easily and unabashedly WEPT in public? I'm pretty damn liberal and support most of Obama's actions but IMHO US leaders should NOT cry in public! Man up!
