Washington (CNN) - Fresh off his eighth trip to New Hampshire as a likely presidential contender, former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum is adding a few South Carolina stops to his itinerary.
An aide to Santorum told CNN that the dark horse candidate will keynote the Aiken County GOP lunch next Monday.
CNN previously reported that Santorum is participating in Saturday's "Stand up for Life" march in Columbia, which will culminate in a rally on the steps of the South Carolina state house. That event is sponsored by South Carolina Citizens for Life, a chapter of the National Right to Life Committee that endorsed former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson during the last Republican presidential primary fight in 2007.
Santorum's staunchly conservative views on abortion make him a frontrunner for that endorsement should he decide to embark on a presidential bid.

Santorum and South Carolina. Made for each other.
Does anyone care every time this man moves from state to state?
Rick Santorum is one of those self-righteous, bible-thumping, authoritarian thugs the likes of which drove me out of the Republican Party. Pennsylvania had the good sense to turn him out of the Senate in 2006 and I see no good reason to give a George Bush think-alike another chance to further screw up the country.
I really wish the GOP would get it that people are no more interested in being told what to do by authoritarian theocrats than they are by authoritarian socialists.
Uh. How about go back to work.
This guy used to be one of the biggest hate mongers, and that is why he lost his seat a couple years ago because of his extreme views in abortion, and now he going for it again....good luck with that.
The only relevance Sanatorium has in politics is telling the viewing public what type of moisturizer he uses to maintain that peaches-n-cream complexion of his.
The man looks like he's embalmed.
Forget it Santorum. You couldn't get elected as the mayor of Simpleton, let alone President of the United States. I think former Senator Bob Kerrey said it best when he said Santorum was Latin for a**hole. Just in case you do decide campaign, remember that you're gonna have to explain that whole controversy about your residency status and failure to pay your children's tuition costs. And don't count on any support from the gay community. They remember what a jerk you've been to them as well. Better still, do everyone a favor and crawl back under the rock from which you oozed out.
and this is news because?
It's Howdy Doody time! A buffoon, at best.
Oh great...just what we need in this country....yet another homophobic politician....should be interesting to see he and Mike "Huckleberry Hound" in the same debate however....they can each try and one-up each other to see who can hate the most.
Has anyone done any polling of the good people of PA to see if they want this failure running things? I doubt he would crack 30%.
In case anyone has forgotten, its the independents that hold the key to winning the presidency, and this idiot is not even newsworthy since he will never win the nomination, nor is he able to win a key state like PA.
Waste of time.
People may ask, "What could be worse than Sarah Palin"
.
The answer is "Rick Santorum......."
I want to know where John McCain is. The senior Senator from AZ needs to come out of hiding and explain why he inflicted Sarah Palin on us.
Hah hah, hah, hah, hah. Why waste the effort to report this? Santorum? Remember the movie, Dumb and Dumber? W and S. The reporter only left out the a, the t and the e. Who pays for his matching funds? Me and you.
Jackwagon.
Rick Sanitarium is more like it.
