Washington (CNN) – Continuing a presidential tradition of traveling to the heartland of America after delivering his State of the Union address, President Obama will fly to Manitowoc, WI on Wednesday January 26. Presidents have historically visited politically important states following the annual speech in order to highlight themes and programs outlined in the address.
Manitowoc, WI is located on Lake Michigan ninety minutes drive north of Milwaukee. The mayor Justin Nickels is a mere 24 years old. He was 22 when elected to the post.

Wisconsin? Really?? Wisconsin?? Politically important??? I guess he's sick of visiting Ohio and losing seats there. I'm sure he'll work the same magic in Wisconsin.
Hey, it took this administration to turn Wisconsin into a Red State and it's not going back any time soon. Just ask Russ Feingold!
Who cares where this clown goes?
I am very curious to see how the President's remarks are received by the Republicans.
With the spotlight on full blast on those that engage in negative, over-hyped vitiriol it will be interesting to see how well behaved they will be.
I think that the "skating" party is over for the Republicans. Their disrespectful behaviour of the President will no longer be overlooked; people are taking down names and numbers, so to speak.
Based on the outstanding results of the so-called Lame Duck Congress, and his unifying and heartfelt eulogy in Arizona, the voters of the United States have been strongly reminded why they voted this man in to be their President.
And unlike the results of the November 2nd elections, they are NOT suffering from buyers remorse.
Tread lightly Republicans, and act in a way befitting of the postions you were elected to hold.
Surprise me. I look forward to it.
obama needs to be a one term president. he has destroyed our country with his extreme spending, socialist ways. we need a president who will bring our country back to where it should be, cut spending, bring back jobs, drill for our own oil here in the states. it can be done. elect a Republican in 2012.
Kat,
I care, we care.
Thanks
Who cares what Obama says or where he goes. He needs to work with the people's choice (the Republicans) and get the unemployment rate down. Ask the two West Virginia Senators (Democrats) how they feel about his administration and his EPA team now. Hundreds more hard-working people thrown out of work by stupid EPA rules evan though the miner's permit met all necessary legal requirements at the time it was issued. Just change the rules in the middle of the game. These people don't need jobs. what an idiot! The Nov 2012 election can't get here fast enough. Time for the RIGHT CHANGE in this country.
I can tell you this much..........being from Wisconsin, we do not like Obama, we do not want him here, that is why we voted out Russ Feingold after 18 years in office, it wasn't because of Russ Feingold it was because we loath Obama and his liberal socialist views.
@DomicanMama4Obama~~Yes Mamm~you have it right. Our President is one fine man! And,I think its wayyy past time for the Teapubs to go far away from people who are trying hard to set this country right once again. Go or join us,but stop making life WORSE for so many people~please. One look at what the Repubs are doing in Wash D.C. should be all any sensible person needs,to send them running to vote for Dems in 2012!
