CNN Poll: Palin unfavorable rating at all time high

Washington (CNN) - A new national poll indicates that 56 percent of all Americans have an unfavorable view of Sarah Palin, an all-time high for the former Alaska governor. That 56 percent unfavorable figure is up seven points from just before the midterm elections, according to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll released Wednesday morning.

Thirty-eight percent of people questioned in the poll say they have a favorable view of the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, down two points from October.

The poll was conducted following a difficult two week stretch for Palin, who is considering a run for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. Palin was in the spotlight following the Jan. 8 shootings at a "Congress on Your Corner" event at a Tucson, Arizona supermarket, which left six people dead and 13 wounded. Authorities believe Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was seriously wounded as the target of the mass shootings. A 22-year-old suspect, Jared Lee Loughner, is in custody.

Following the shootings critics suggested Palin's at-times charged political rhetoric and use of a graphic featuring crosshairs may have contributed to the shooter's motivations. The graphic was part of a website that Palin put up last year, during the divisive debate over health care reform, to highlight 20 congressional districts won by Sen. John McCain in the 2008 presidential election, where Democratic representatives were voting in favor of the legislation.

According to the survey, Palin's unfavorable rating is up 10 points among women, compared to just three points among men, and among independent voters, her unfavorable rating has grown a whopping 14 points.

Does the dip in Palin's favorable ratings have anything to do with her website?

"Probably not directly, but the public may have been turned off by her reaction to the controversy surrounding that website," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "Poll results released earlier this week show that most Americans do not blame her website for the shootings in Arizona. But women and independents - two groups that tend to prefer civility and bipartisanship - may have disliked her combative reaction to suggestions that the website was involved."

The CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll was conducted Jan. 14-16, with 1,014 adult Americans questioned by telephone. The survey's overall sampling error is plus or minus 3 percentage points.

I suspect that Palin is so isolated from any news other than Fox and their conservative commentators that she does not even know that people are starting to get tired of her. This is a result of being way to overexposed.

When Palin shoots off her mouth more about being the victim then the 9 year old girl being killed, yeah, her ratings should go into the tank. She has shown what a cold, heartless, selfish woman she is.

CNN, please, please, please stop with the articles about Sarah Palin. We don't need one EVERY day.

Everytime Palin opens her mouth, she polarizes the issue. "Keep on talkin', ex 1/2 term Governor...you continue to show the country what you are truly made of!"

What is CNN's obsession with Sarah Palin? I have lost count of the number of times I see "Bad News For Palin" on the front page. Have they ever gone more than a week without that headline?

To be fair, it is not so much Palin I can't stand as it is CNN constantly jamming stories about her down our throats!!! Enough with the minute to minute stories! WE DON'T CARE!!! You know how much more palatable she would be if CNN would limit Palin stories to less than one a week (you know, the frequency that something new may actually happen) instead of every minute of every day?

Isn't that funny, when her TV show ratings are off the charts!! CNN, I think you keep Democrats all stirred up by unfavorable stories about Sarah Palin, and headlines that usually don't have much to do with the story that follows.

Palin is like the grotesquely deformed and deranged step sister that the family kept secret and locked in the attic. Thanks to McCain who left the attic door unlocked "it" got out and is terrorizing the countryside. What we need is someone with a tranquilizer dart to sedate it, put it in a box and ship it to the furthest reaches of the Alaskan tundra where it can't do any more harm. The only thing is, I'd feel sorry for the poor Alaskan animals what that thing running lose in the wild. Maybe the best thing is to simply launch it into orbit? We MUST come together as a people, like the movie "Independence Day" to rid the earth of this thing before its too late!!!

This woman is not qualified to be President. You may like her, but she lacks the skills to be President.

Her 15 minutes are up. She'll always have the extreme right on her side, but everybody else has had enough of her. She's one of the most narcissistic politicians I can recall in recent memory. Besides, this was all a ruse anyway. She just wanted her name out there so she could promote her book, her reality show and make bucks on the lecture circuit. She will never actually run for president. That would require her to work hard. She quit being Alaska governor cause it was interfering with her celebrity.

This woman is a moron, the only reason she is shoved in our faces daily is because she is a clown! McCain was and is a fool for having brought this woman out of her cave up in Alaska.

Bad news for Palin means good news for America. Even though I am Independent, I lean a bit to the right. Sarah is not the person we need in the White House. She should stick to the reality TV shows. Or maybe just go look at Russia from her backyard.

Palin's poll numbers dropping? Must be the fault of others as she has done absolutely nothing wrong. Just ask her, and besides, FauxNews gave her an extremely tough interview and in other news that means absolutely nothing, the equator is so long it can go all the way around the world one full time.

That is about the same as Obama's disapproval rating is it not? Poor judgement on her part to respond the way she did; because the truth was beginning to come out that the kid was mentaly ill. And, he had threatened Gifford in 2007; long before the election ugliness was brewing.

This job quitter's ratings will continue to tank as long as she continues to open her mouth. I'm smarter than Sarah Palin and I know I'm not qualified to be my town's Mayor let alone consider the highest office in the land.

If so high then explain why all the attention (hate?) from the left? She has an influence and it showed last election. Make no mistake, there is no stopping Sarah Palin from winning the WH in 2012.

Let's hope this drop in unfavorable ratings continues so she can slink back to obscurity where she belongs. Curses to John McCain for ever introducing this woman into the national fold.
