Bachmann says she's 'not in competition with Paul Ryan'

Washington (CNN) - Representative Michele Bachmann tells CNN at the top of her post State of the Union speech she will announce that her remarks are not the official Republican response.

She says she's spoken with Representative Paul Ryan, who is giving the official GOP rebuttal, and with Republican leadership and explains she's "not in competition with Paul Ryan." Instead she says the media has turned it into a rebuttal, misconstruing her intentions.

Bachmann says about a month ago she was invited to speak to the membership of the Tea Party Express and never expected the media to carry her speech live.

Her themes tonight will be "making sure Congress is not spending more than its taking in," "no tax increases" and the importance of "acting within the bounds of the Constitution."

CNN plans to carry Bachmann's remarks live after Rep Paul Ryan speaks.

Women don't have the backbone to hold a leadership position........Seems as though every time they're exposed for being the idiots they truly are (Palin. Bachmann and all the rest) they all run and hide behind the ever popular "liberal media is out to get me" excuse........Just like the coward war criminals Bush and Cheney used to run and hide behind the good ol' "executive privilege" and "matters of national security" excuse every time anyone called them out.........Pathetic.......Some people will vote for anybody!!

Geez, it's a real surprise she would blame the media for misunderstanding her. So, the question is, will her remarks be improper, incoherent, or both?

Ok Sarah Palin cooked her own goose with her violent rehtoric. Let's see how Michelle Bachman does with her made up facts. People are not stupid enough to believe everything politicians say, expecially those who don't know their American history and make up their own facts. As said by a very famous comedian, "You can make up your own opinions, but you can't make up your own facts.!"

Michele Bachmann Is Improper too give a Response to President state of the Union Address. The Tea Party Is NOT a political Party. She doesn't deserved time on T.V. As a matter of fact every time I heard Michele Backmann talk she lie every time. The Tea Party Is nothing but two rich brother trying too control the people they back vote. They isn't spending all that money for nothing. People in American should wake up be for It too late. The Tea Party keep saying we got too take this Country back, just one thing is the only people that have this Country is American People so we going to take It back from are self.I don't know about the rest of American but I don't want to be back In the 1800 century and have another civil war.

Why is anyone giving this lying, idiot, who embraces the fascist ideology, any attention?

Much of what Bachman say is improper. These are not the leaders the Republican party needs as the face of conservative principles. She and others are largely looking for the limelight and interested in attention. Give me a more moderate and reasoned politician not looking to be the next Reality TV show star, please.

Another example of the media completely blowing a non-issue out of proportion. Plenty of both Dems and Repubs will speak with news outlets about their opinions after the SOTU. It's called politics.

I can't believe CNN or any other network plans to air this airhead's remarks at all....live or otherwise. She's not an official representative of any registered party, and is in fact a registered Repugnantan. Moreover, she's a total evangelical nutjob without any credentialed education from an accredited university. It's a national embarrassment this ignorant, crazed woman is even in Congress at all. I can't imagine what the population of her nutty district in Minnesota must be like....

CNN might as well make up a Whack-Job Column. Not a day goes by when you don't have a story about one or the other.

If the GOP and Tea Party are so conjoined, why do they need separate rebuttal comments?
I sense a bigger chasm between the GOP establishment and the Tea Party.

This will be a perfect opportunity for Michele to show us what kind of politician she is. Does she speak to the concerns of conservative America or does she speak the language of the minority neo-rightwing rhetoric?

This woman is a well know liar in Minnesota .. We had a New Bridge built in St Cloud (because it had the same design flaws as the I35 Bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis) and she refused to support legislation for the funding..when local mainstream politicians DEms and Republicans got the funding ..1 year later there is MIchelle at the New Bridge ceremony claiming she supported the bridge all along "can you say LIAR)

""I want people in Minnesota armed and dangerous on this issue of the energy tax because we need to fight back. Thomas Jefferson told us 'having a revolution every now and then is a good thing,' and the people - we the people - are going to have to fight back hard if we're not going to lose our country." -Rep. Rep. Michele Bachmann, March 2009"

"Carbon dioxide is portrayed as harmful. But there isn't even one study that can be produced that shows that carbon dioxide is a harmful gas." -Rep. Michelle Bachmann, April, 2009

"Literally, if we took away the minimum wage—if conceivably it was gone—we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level." —Michele Bachmann, 1/26/05, Jobs, Energy and Community Development Committee, testifying against SF 3, a bill to raise the MN minimum wage and advocating the elimination of the minimum wage altogether..

It goes on and and on....

WOW !! Who does she think she is...... another wanna be idiot from Alaska ??? They all have their own agenda to place themselves in the spotlight so they can demand $$$$ for ridiculous speeches of fire and brimstone. Also CNN with Anderson proved she sure ain't no history buff. Did she and Sarah attend the same 4 or 5 schools ?? I want to see Bachmann's diploma !!!!

Michelle Bachmann is a lunatic. How in the world did she get appointed to the Intelligence Committee when she has none whatsoever. Paul Ryan, as much as I disagree with his policies is far more in touch with reality than that baffoon Bachmann.

  23. The Real Tom Paine

Nonsense, of course she expected it to be carried live. Thats why she's doing it. She's not fooling anyone. If she had no plans to upstage the response by Ryan, than she should back out of the event or insist that cameras not be present.

The most dangerous place for an American to be is between her and a television camera.

They'd better make sure her response is not the official GOP line. If so, everyone would see that a complete whack job, moonbat is speaking for that party. The Man from Tan better reel in these people or they are going to make a mockery of the party and they'll lose seats by the dozen come 2012

so what's with the "dog and pony show" then Ms. Bachmann? Just how many responses does one need to a SOTU speech? Why not just let all the congresspersons respond, I'm sure most will have a different take on what the president has to say.
