(CNN) - Former Republican Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will give the keynote address in February at the Reagan Ranch Center honoring the 100th anniversary of the former president's birthday.
The two days of events in Santa Barbara, California are sponsored by the conservative Young America's Foundation.
"Young America's Foundation has been sharing the values of President Reagan with young people for over 40 years, and there is no organization more committed to preserving freedom's future," Palin said in a statement.
Her speech on February 4th will "draw parallels to today while calling for young people to continue the Reagan revolution into 2012 and beyond," according to the release.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney will speak at the end of the celebrations on Saturday February 5th.
The festivities will include panel discussions with Reagan authors, former Reagan administration officials and leaders of the Young America's Foundation.

I didn't care much for Reagan as a politician, but for Palin to speak at a memorial for him is pretty crass.
I wonder if her staff is giving her the Cliff notes on who, exactly, Ronald Reagan was.

Let's hope she knocks in outta the park like she did during her recent "Tuscon Tumble" video debut. I'm no fan of Reagan's, but even I consider this an insult to his memory and surviving family members. The only thing she has in common with Ronald Reagan is her current intellect is lower than his was at his the end of his life.

Way to go Sarah and I know you'll will give a wonderful speech. What I'm most proud of you for is that you have stood tall in the face of all the terrible bashing that you have received from the uneducated, nasty individuals that like to just sit on their behinds and put forth hate. Stand Tall Sarah because for everyone that dislikes you and your message there are 3 people that think you are a pretty decent and sincere. Just go forward knowing that there are some that have your back and you have our prayers!
Is this a joke? There are too many to name that should do the keynote. She is given too much credit for doing NOTHING for this country. This action is a total discredit to the man's legacy.

I hoped she's learned what college Reagan attended, the last speech she gave Palin named a college that never existed. She should speak about the leader of Alaskan Independent Party, I'm sure she knows more about him and if not she can always ask her husband Todd.

The question is why Sarah Palin would be the keynote speaker for a celebration of Ronald Reagan's life. President Reagan was surrounded by people who could keep him well-informed. He spoke to everyone and used his charisma and charm to get people on his side. He never relied on the type of rhetoric which Sarah Palin or even Dick Cheney use. I did not vote for Reagan because I differed with him on policy. However I do not think the speakers chosen can hold a candle to the man.
Reagan will roll over in his grave with the first "how's the hopey changey thing going fer ya now" reference. I was never a big Reagan fan, but I feel sorry for the Reagans that this is the best they could do in his honor. You betcha!!

By the way, I think "WTF" is what Gabby Giffords said when she saw Palin's map and "surveyor symbol" on her name and district. After Ms. Giffords was shot through the brain, she didn't say anything.
I can't believe she will be the key speaker at 'The Ranch'. I remember just a week ago Ron Jr said there is absolutely no comparison of Pain and his father. He also sounded discussed just hearing her name. Surely Nancy didn't haven't a say in 'that thing' beiing the speaker. I swear the broad would go to the opening of a door. Makes one kind of sick.
