Gibbs will leave Friday

Washington (CNN) – White House Spokesman Robert Gibbs said Monday that Friday will be his last day on the job. Gibbs announced his decision to leave in January. He will continue as an adviser to the president after he leaves the White House.

Jay Carney, the current communications director for Vice President Joe Biden, will succeed him at the podium.

Wish you could stick around Gibbs. I personally think you did a good job. Alot better than Perino and Fleisher.

Robert Gibbs has been a excellent voice for the White House ,I enjoyed seeing & hearing him each morning on CNN as he would deliver the morning press briefings. I am sure that mr. Carney will do just as fine a job.

Loved him at first but ready for a change. All his umms and awwwws drove me nuts. I just wanted to thump him in the back of the head sometimes and say, 'spit it out!'
