National Review editor urges Jeb to run

(CNN) – Fresh off putting Jeb Bush on the cover of his magazine this week, National Review Editor Rich Lowry is now actively urging the younger brother of the former president to seek the White House himself - now.

Writing on the National Review’s website Monday, Lowry says it’s now or never for the popular former Florida governor who has already explicitly ruled at a 2012 bid, saying waiting four years will risk diminishing his legacy while a bumper crop of new Republican leaders emerge.

“Four years after leaving the Florida governor’s mansion, he remains one of the most impressive Republican politicians in the country, a formidable policy mind with the political chops to drive conservative reforms even out of office. So why isn’t he running for president?” asks Lowry.

Lowry lists eight reasons why Bush must and should run this presidential election cycle, including his belief that 2016 will prove too late for the younger Bush who at that point will have been out of office for 10 years.

“No doubt he will have made many contributions to the cause in the interim, but by then his main credential — his governorship and its accomplishments — will seem like yesterday’s news. Right now he has the feel of an elder statesman of the party while his time in office is still fresh,” writes Lowry.

Other reasons Lowry says Bush should run now: “The Bush rehabilitation has begun,” “He’s not just another Bush,” and “Waiting is almost always a mistake.”

Interesting to hear all the libtards in here moan and groan about a Bush dynasty. I wonder if they did same thing when Hillary ran, or when the Kennedy's were running? Of course not. Liberals can always be counted on for their never ending hypocrisy.

And if the majority of people in the USA want Jeb Bush as their President, HE CAN BE President! Isn't America wonderful!

We have had enough of the Bush family. First we had "Read My Lips" and we booted him out. Then we got the bungler who frequently can't speak proper English, failed to catch bin Laden and said he wasn't concerned about him, spearheaded an optional war with a nation that had nothing to do with 9/11, ignored dying Americans begging for help in a major U.S. city, and left the ecomony and stock market plummeting.

Even Republicans should realize that enough is enough.

Jeb is the worst crook in the Bush family. He left Florida 2 billion dollars in debt and way over developed. When Jeb became governor his wife wasted no time trying to smuggle expensive clothing into the U.S. from Paris to avoid the tax. Fortunately she was caught. And the worst atrocity committed by Jeb was helping his older brother rig the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections with the Diebold voting machines. Jeb is more dangerous that dubya...

The Gulf War headed by George H.W. Bush spearheaded the hatred toward the west. Then when George W became president in 2000 even though he didn't win the election, it probably was a red flag for all of those in the middle east who hated the names Bush, Cheney and Powell from the earlier war and who were feeling that the western countries were exploiting them for their oil. One wonders how different the world might be today if Gore had rightfully become President. It will be a while before the world will welcome and accept a president with Republican before his name and especially if that name is Bush.

This time, the best candidate is Daniels, in my view. He talks smart, he talks middle of the road, and he puts priorities where they belong.
