Cain: 'Stupid people are ruining America"

Washington (CNN) – Herman Cain, the first Republican to open a presidential exploratory committee, addressed the Conservative Political Action Conference Monday in a speech laden with criticisms of the Obama administration's fiscal policies.

"Stupid people are ruining America," Cain said to applause and laughter. "We have to become teachers and educators of the stupid."

"The American dream is under attack, but the good news is we are fighting back. We are fighting back with our voices and our votes," added Cain.

Some of Cain's biggest applause came when he took aim at the health care law:

"Now that the cat is out of the bag, we know that health care reform legislation was an absolute disaster," he said. "That's why the House is trying to repeal and replace and we are going the help them do that."

Cain's comments capped off a day of speeches from several likely presidential candidates at the annual gathering that more than 11,000 conservatives are attending this year.

I have to agree with Herman. The voting public is only concerned about what benefits them. We are no longer repsonsible for ourselves, our debt nor understand how to live within a budget. We want everything our neighbors have and expect the wealthy to share their hard earned dollars. Herman is right....we need to educate the public about the affects of the Obama administration on small businesses...the additional taxes which limit their competitive bidding, the additional health care costs thanks to Obamacare. The general voting public has been influenced by the democratic "divide and conquer" brainwashing that they are entitled to not work hard but have what everyone else has. Sorry, yes, we need to educate voters so they vote wisely the next time around and not for someone whose only experience is as a community organizer. It has not served this country well. By the way, does the public understand that Obama's home state of Illinois will fall into bankrupsty well before California. Says alot for their state corrupt politics.

If stupid people are ruining America then why don't you just shut up!!! Your opinion of the health care plan is bogus and untrue .The reason for the Repubs attempt to repeal it is so obviously meant to take away any opportunity for our president to get anything competed.. The Repubs have not created, worked on and carried through one single piece of legislation in the past two years and that is the TRUTH.. Remember what Abe Lincoln said "It is better to remain silent and thought the fool ,than speak and remove all doubt"!

I agree get rid of the tea bags and republicans and we can full speed ahead and get this country back to the greatest in the world like it used to be before Bush and Reagan.

Change the Change 2012! Tea is a good thing!

Well, that should attract independent voters. No constructive ideas, just more name calling. Now we aren't treasonous infidels, now we are just stupid.

Cain is the stupidest of them all. The Hispanics figured out that the republican party had no room for minorities and left them, why is he hanging around? The republican are only relevant because of the un-educated white voters they manage to hold on to. This makes them the party of the stupid.

where are the jobs? You realize (not arguing whether or not they are right) cutting 100 billion in government spending is going to costs hundreds of thousands of jobs. Thank god the rich got those tax cuts.

And once again, have the Tea-Partiers brought anything to the table besides talking about "getting the other guy"? What a waste of time and expense these people are. The only thing they've managed to acheive is chaos within the Republican Party (the CPAC news over the past few days showing everyone screaming at each other WITHIN the event itself proves that point).

I don't think they are stupid – just politicians talking out of both sides of their mouths at once. I love it at election time. They seem to grow a 3rd orifice to speak from.

Speaking of stupid, Cain said today on CNN that he thinks Palin and Bachmann are great leaders of the GOP, so anything this knucklehead says is useless and far beyond stupid. Current Republicans are the biggest bunch of losers to ever hit the political scene in history.

I couldn't agree more. I think Beck and gang teach stupid people stuff. I mean they teach people to be stupid, or sumthin'. People have been taught to espouse stupid, hateful rhetoric. Guess whose side of the house is most guilty Mr Cain. It's a little late to try and inject reason after a good, saturated two years of "GOP dumbination", sir. Good luck with that.

You already are teachers of the stupid. The Republican masses are the most uninformed, dumbest, head bobbing crowd out there. They simply follow along because someone puts some social fear out there. Go educate them about the truth.

No, It was STUPID PEOPLE that RUINED America already.........Gotta love that fabricated right-wing version of history that all of these cockroaches seem to suffer from, like the last 8 years of Bush's f-ups never happened.....I suppose it was all just one big case of mistaken identity on our part, right?

So is this guy talking about the constituents (aka stupid people) who elect their government? If this is true, then the government itself is a reflection of the people who chose them? I guess I'm stupid, I gave in to the television ads, was gullable and believed everything they promised me. I never thought to ask the question "why is this important to me and my community?" I gave my vote to the lowest common denominator, the prettiest, well spoken for the promise I was taking back my country.
To all the stupid people out there, you're represented by some class acts who will manipulate you and take advantage of you and your money! :) Pat yourself on the back and know you're in good hands!

It takes true idiocy to believe that a country can support any significant number of welfare bums without going bankrupt, but an amazing number of Democrats seem to manage it.
