Palin look-a-like sets CPAC abuzz

Washington (CNN) - Did Sarah Palin make the trip from Wasilla, Alaska to Washington, DC for the Conservative Political Action Conference after all?

No. But Palin impersonator Patti Lyons convinced more than a few young conservatives she did.

Lyons, who has Palin's look nailed down and calls herself "the world's premier Sarah Palin impressionist," sauntered around the conference of conservative activists commanding all the attention the real Palin would - hounded by television cameras, curious reporters, and some excited attendees who thought Lyons was the real deal.

At one moment Friday morning, Lyons – err, Palin – was swarmed by scores of college-age Republicans as Mitt Romney – the real one - was speaking in the ballroom fifty feet away. When it was apparent Lyons was in fact not the real Palin, many wanted her autograph anyway.

Speaking to CNN, Lyons wouldn't reveal her actual political leanings, saying they tend to vary depending on the type of event she attends.

The real Palin informed organizers last week she was not able to attend the annual gathering of some 11,000 activists, citing scheduling conflicts. She had been asked to deliver the key-note address Saturday. CPAC has become an early testing ground for potential GOP presidential candidates.

As far as her bogus appearance, certainly it was a let down. As far as substance provided, it would be about the same. Really folks, a sprinkling of Constitution, a few "bring down Obummers", no taxes, no government and some winkin', isn't that pretty much what you would otherwise get anyway? See. I just did it for free. Well, you didn't see the winks. I'll give you that. Speaking of "let downs", people who find substance with SP's doctrine...

A surprise visit by Sarah Palin, even a fake one, is about the same as waking up in the morning and realizing you have a hemorrhoid

I wonder how much Palin had to pay her to make an appearance

The real half Gov. Palin couldn't make it because they wouldn't pay her $100K speaking fee. However, on the other hand the fake Half Gov. Palin made it and by the way, she made much sense and could speak in complete sentences. She also didn't have to call someone names in order to get press time. I think we should stick with the fake one, she's much more presidential material than the real Half Gov. Palin.

Continuing on with the meaning of the word 'Rogue' that this women chose to describe herself in her book:

    A deliberately dishonest person
    A cheat
    To defraud

    She prophesied over herself.

I always figured that the party that would degenerate into entertainment would be the democrats, what with all that Hollywood influence at all.

It's sad that there's even a market for a "Palin impersonator" in this country. Why is someone like the original Sarah Palin famous to begin with? She's of below-average intelligence, she's a vapid, self-absorbed sociopath, and she's done nothing to benefit anyone other than herself. Why is such a person celebrated? I don't blame the impersonator for capitalizing on it to make a few bucks, but it's a sad statement that there's a demand for the original, much less a copy.

Funny. When I first glanced at the by-line on the CNN-US home page I first thought it said "Ticker: Surprise Palin Apocalypse." ;)

I guess a consensus has been reached.... we don't like Sarah Palin.

Before we work on artificial intelligence why don't we do something about natural stupidity?

Looks like CPAC got punked. Just shows how intellectually lost they are. I am fairly certain that Patti Lyons would be more qualified regardless of her political "leanings". The best thing is that Palin will AGAIN cost the GOP the election. Maybe then they will realize they cannot win with social conservatives hijacking their party!!!!

I wonder if this is the reason the Sarah is trying to trademark herself and her children.

What are the chances she's any smarter or more in touch with real world issues that affect the lives of people in the "real America"?

The way to tell the difference is if the person answered questions. If she answered questions, then it isn't Palin. She only says things; garbage comes out nothing goes in.
