Palin talks 2012, mocks Michelle Obama

Woodbury, New York (CNN) - Sarah Palin addressed a variety of issues Thursday at a gathering of business officials in Long Island, New York including her 2012 plans, first lady Michelle Obama, President Obama's proposed budget, the crisis in Egypt, and her feelings on the media.

Here's a snapshot of what she had to say:

On her 2012 ambitions:
"I am still thinking of leading this country. I am still thinking about it. I haven't made up my mind. We hired a chief of staff because Todd is getting tired of doing it for me."

When asked who else she might envision at the top of the GOP ticket Palin responded, "No one is more qualified to multi-tasking and doing all the things you need to do as a President than a woman."

She then began reciting from her resume, listing her experience as a mayor and running for Vice President.

"What I would look for in terms of character is someone who's been on the front lines, who understands how to administer, how to lead a team, how to run a business."

On Michelle Obama:
"No wonder Michelle Obama is telling people to breast feed their babies, because the price of milk is rising so high."

She then warned the dozens of reporters at her question and answer event, "That better not be the takeaway here."

On the threat from the Muslim Brotherhood:
"We have to be sure a group like the Muslim Brotherhood isn't invited in to take over," she said. "The Muslim Brotherhood believes in sharia law."

"If they're radical enough to have already spoken against liberties and freedom is this good for Egypt and their freedoms?" she also said.

Palin also criticized the Obama Administration for appearing to flip-flop on Egypt.

"There was so much confusion about where our administration was," Palin said. "I won't condemn them for adding to the confusion, but the American public does deserve to know whose side we're on."

On the media:
Asked her about a recent Gallup Poll indicating more than 50 percent of those surveyed have a negative opinion of her, Palin responded, "In a lot of those polls I get my butt kicked."

"The poll you're referring to was taken after the Tucson tragedy. I don't think I ever went through more negative press than after Tucson," she said.

"How else does the public know you except through the press? When the press reports things that have really misrepresented my record as a council member, mayor… and what you stand for and who your family is," Palin continued, pointing to her reliance on Twitter and Facebook for public communications.

"I can't rely on a liberal-leaning press to do that for you. That's why social media will be so important."

On the president's budget proposal:
President Obama's budget plan will take the country "on the road to ruin," Palin said.

"What the people of America are saying is, 'enough is enough no more status quo we don't want to continue deficit spending.'"

"Tone deaf politicians they're going to be fired and they're going to be replaced in the next election cycle if they don't pay attention," said Palin.

John McCain has embarrassed this country by introducing Sarah Palin to the American mainstream . Who's she going to pick as her vice-president, Peg Bundy?

Truth – really? Truth, okay, the rest of the world hates us? Like the hated us when George W. Bush was President? I don't think so. Just because Obama doesn't go around rattling the sabres, and chest-thumping doesn't mean he isn't a strong leader. He's using much smarter tactics to win over our enemies than "might makes right". You think the U.S.A. should be threatening other countries all the time with going to War? And that would be a smart thing, since we don't have the manpower and we don't have the money either? Sarah would be a total disaster as a leader in any capacity for this Country. She's an airhead. You blow in her ear and dust comes out the other one. I will give her credit though for making her braindead followers give her so much money by buying her books and attending her "speeches" where she just shreiks and rants about nothing substantive. She's not the only moron, all her supporters are too!

Why is it every time Sarah Palin stands her ground aganist left-wing idiots she is attacked savagely? Oh, I remember, the left can do no wrong-plus poor sniveling crybabies are still butt sore about the November elections and how the ignorant unwashed masses still do not understand that those on the left are as smart as Watson

Nice to see all the intelligent, high minded comments posted here. I don't care much for Palin, but I'm quite impressed in her ability to get a reaction out of so many people any time she speaks. And every time she does, she exposes the shallowness of all of you.

@DT Cali – what are you talking about? The President came out on the side of the people of Egypt from the start. And why is milk $4 a gallon? Think about it, if you can. Who benefits? Certainly not liberals (or conservatives) unless they're CEOs and Wall Street Bankers, and that ilk. You're rambling talking points garnered from right wing radio and tv pundits, that have no basis in fact. Our ignorance is going to destroy us.

I am no fan of the Muslim brotherhood but I don't like religious fanatics who would impose their religion on others. A good example of such a religious fanatic in our society would be Sarah Palin or Michelle Bachman. Sharia is simply the arabic word for fundamentalist reference to scripture and so, these two idiots literally practice Christian Sharia. Practice what you preach Palin and shut the hell up.

If she even wants to make a reasonable showing in a presidential election, she needs to lighten up. I can't remember the last time a potential candidate whined so much about everything. Sure, you'll appeal to the people who like to come on comment boards and use clever nicknames like "Odumba" or "Dem tards", but most people are really turned off by that. Where's the vision for the country? What's her theme? Seems like it's just spouting out nonsensical and childish slogans like "Lamestream media" (must've taken forever to think that one up), and amping up the already ridiculous fears about Islam. She doesn't need the press to make her look bad. Her direct quotes are enough to make any sane person realize that she's not emotionally or intellectually capable of being a leader.

"What I would look for in terms of character is someone who's been on the front lines, who understands how to administer, how to lead a team, how to run a business. . . quit in the middle of her term as Governor.

"How else does the public know you except through the press? When the press reports things that have really misrepresented my record as a council member, mayor… and what you stand for and who your family is," Palin continued, pointing to her reliance on Twitter and Facebook for public communications.

That's where nobody can ask an immediate hard ball question and not expect an immediate unfriending.

I wish this waste of a carbon-based life form would just go away already. First she mocks Mrs. Obama's endorsement of encouraging physical education/exercise for children. Now she can't seem to wrap her empty little head around the idea that breastfeeding is beneficial. How have her own children survived?
Sarah Palin is the best thing that's ever happened to the Democratic Party since "W".

Notice that she didn't mention her stint as governor of Alaska when she was talking about her resume. Smart to leave that "experience" off the list since she quit on the good people of Alaska. So what's she going to do when she wins the election and is our new president – quit when the going gets tough? Honey, the day you are sworn in to office things get tough. (You all know I'm being sarcastic when I say she's going to be president, right?!?!)

    This woman can't string two sentences together that make any sense. How the heck does she think she's going to run this country? With a wink and a you-bet-cha? {rolls eyes}

I think this lady really need medical attention and those who support needs it too. Seriously, do anyone actually think she has a chance of being President? The Republican Party really needs to tell this lady to go sit down and be quiet. She is making their party ever the more stupid looking then anything GB could ever have done!!

CNN, could you please make sure that when you "write" whatever it is that this woman says that it's written exactly as she speaks? You are making her sound smart by having someone actually write down the words in English. Her enunciation is one of the worst ever!!! Let me help you get started . . . . . she doesn't pronounce the "g" at the end of any word! Pick it up from there. Your spell checker is going to fry!
