Report: Ex-aide slams Palin in leaked book

(CNN) – An upcoming tell-all on Sarah Palin authored by a former top aide alleges the Republican firebrand despised her job as governor and broke campaign election laws in 2006.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, a 500-page manuscript authored by Frank Bailey was leaked to several Alaska media organizations over the weekend.

The book reportedly describes a Palin deeply exasperated with her political opponents and the heightened attacks she faced after being tapped to be the GOP vice presidential nominee in 2008.

"I hate this damn job," Bailey says Palin wrote in an e-mail to him shortly before her resignation in the summer of 2009.

The yet-to-be-published book was leaked to the media and widely circulated over the weekend. It also alleges Palin flagrantly violated campaign law when she closely collaborated with the Republican Governor's Association on a campaign ad in 2006. Because of the RGA's status as a 527 organization, the group can only support candidates independently and are barred from coordinating on strategy.

According to the Daily News, Bailey joined Palin's political team in 2006 and had been in her in her circle until her resignation as governor. He had previously declined all media requests regarding his perceptions of his former boss.

The book was also written by Jeanne Devon, a longtime critic of the former governor who publishes the anti-Palin blog Mudflats, and California author Ken Morris, who has written anti-Palin articles on his own website.

In a posting on Mudflats Friday, Devon writes she is "shock and horrified" that the book has been leaked to the media.

"The toothpaste is out of the tube as they say," she wrote. "So, now there's a little intrigue added to this story, which we certainly would not have chosen, and the consequences of which are yet to be known."

Morris also expressed similar outrage: "One thing I'd like to be very clear about is that the leak was not in any way approved, and the team will protect our rights in the material to the fullest extent of the law. We will seek all legal recourse available against those responsible and those that continue the unauthorized spread of the content," he said.

Pam Pryor, a spokesman for Palin's PAC, told the Anchorage Daily News she did not expect Palin would respond to "this kind of untruth."

Another Palin spokesperson has not responded to CNN's request for comment.

The Anchorage Daily News has reported that as a result of the special interest tax credits that Palin ensured would be available to her, the producers of Sarah Palin's Alaska, will be able to recoup $1.2 million of the $3.6 million that the show, which aired on TLC, claims to have spent while filming her propaganda filled reality show.
While other shows, like the Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch and the History Channel's Ice Road Truckers, have also taken advantage of the taxpayer financed subsidy, Palin's show has profited the most.
Palin, clearly thinking of her future strategic use of the generous subsidy in advance of her planned 2012 presidential run, created the law as one that would be good until 2013. It is funded with $100 million, though state legislators in Alaska are mulling over expanding the program an additional 10 years and $200 million if the program is successful. It is unclear how they plan to measure the program's success, other than by how much Palin takes advantage of it.

Though she takes pride is displaying her obvious wealth on her television show, it is even more clear how greedy Palin is. After all, despite criticizing President Barack Obama's budget cuts as being "minuscule" on her Facebook page, Palin seems to have no problem raiding the Alaska state tax coffers to line her own pockets - whether she needs to or not.

Whether she responds or not, all mean the same. The good percentage of people by now understand very well what kind of a person she is. They will never assign her any remarkable duty as a reliable person!

Hopefully the infatuated Palin-ites will begin to open their eyes and see Ms. Pain for what she really is. But then, I doubt it... they seem to have an aversion to common sense, facts and the obvious truth.

She broke campaign election laws in 2006. Now I see where Christine O'Donnell got the idea from. The Quitter from Wasilla is not cut out for politics.

Palin was a failure as Mayor of Wasilla and of course a complete failure as Governor of Alaska. If you quit your elected position before completing your term that the people trusted you would finish that is an outright failure. Palin was found guilty of abuse of power, and she was also found guilty of expense fraud which average people are crimnally charged. This book will hardly contain any surprises for those who looked for the truth in Palins career as it was filled with failure and it is well known she was not good at her job.Everyone says "I hate this damm job" and this is nothing compared to the truth about her dealings with Trans Canada Gas, and the truth will come out about the Alaskan Pipeline project and the Palins could be criminally charged for their illegall involvement with Trans Canada Gas.Every intellegent person in the country knows Palin will never be POTUS, but it is still sad that she makes so much money from her lies and a very poor record of employment. It is no wonder why Republicans do not want to invest in education, people like Palin would not be so successful in hoodwinking the un educated into sending them money.

Palin hate the job as governor which she quit halfway throught her term and is as unethical as the Republican dominated Alaska state legislature reported. More breaking news-water runs downhill!

Gee.......what a Suprise, Palin is a Phoney and a law breaker.
I know she's a Snake Oil Salesman, but is any of this really a shock to anyone?

The story is what? Palin does not like to govern because its difficult in a democracy. She believes in the mantra of "its my way or its wrong". She could barley stand the pressures of being a governor of a state that has more grizzlies than humans and she thinks she can govern a nation as diverse of this? Imagine this idiot having control of our WMD and our powerful military and spy agenicies? No one of her oppents or who disagress with her would have privacy in their lifes..She likes the idea of being president but not the capacity to be president. But I want her to get the nod from the republican party so president Obama can once and for all end her dream and maybe shut her up once and for all. McCain still has not said sorry to the American people for unleashing this beast on america. I'm waiting for him to *man up* and do the right thing.

well what's good for the goose is good for the gander. I thought some kind of book like this about Sarah Palin would come out sooner or later. I thought maybe Kitty Kelley would write it though. I have an idea, why don't all the Progressives go out and pre-order it and make it a number one NY Times bestseller like the right wingers did for Palin's book?

[“…a spokesman for Palin's PAC, told the Anchorage Daily News
she did not expect Palin would respond to "this kind of untruth."]

That’s crazy – then what was Palin responding to in the past – the TRUTH????

    February 21, 2011 09:36 am at 9:36 am |
  20. Corey T.

With Palin's PAC spokesman denying this "untruth", it only makes me believe the story even more. We all know Palin disliked her job as governor. That was a huge reason why she resigned from office. The other reason, of course, was to stay in the media spotlight in order to gain recognition in case she decided to run for president.

If Palin ever becomes President, which thankfully, is a long shot, she will probably hate that job and quit. And just like she did to her fellow Alaskans, she would abandon all Americans. I hope that Bailey releases the email in which she said that she hated her job as governor of Alaska. Then all of America would have undeniable written proof. And her last shred of credibility would disappear.

Leak or not. Is anyone really surprised? After all books, a job w/ Faux Ne -ah hem! Ne–ahhh ahhh heemmmm! cough! cough! sniffle! Ne........The Island of Misfit re....reep.....Rejects and Muckrackers, screeches (oops speeches), and a failed reality show are much more fun and profitable. Being a Governor is too hard and certainly does not stroke one's ego so well in Alaska. I'm really wondering how the general populous feels about their quitter in chief these days. I know I'd be embarrased to tears.

Palin would not know truth if it slapped her. Her entire life for the past 2 years has had nothing to do with truth. Everything she has now and her her fame are centered on the lies she tells and the number of people she can incite to hate.

    This is just more false
    accusations against Palin
just like all the ones she has
    already been cleared of.
    I never thought there would
be a day in this country when
a woman would be so hated for
    being straight, God fearing,
    goal challenging, and attractive.
    She is no nuclear physicist
but Carter was and look what a
    weak President he made.
    Good sense goes further than
    genius in leadership.
The childish name calling by the
    David Lettermans and Jack Caffertys
and all their fans is sickening.
