Report: Ex-aide slams Palin in leaked book

(CNN) – An upcoming tell-all on Sarah Palin authored by a former top aide alleges the Republican firebrand despised her job as governor and broke campaign election laws in 2006.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, a 500-page manuscript authored by Frank Bailey was leaked to several Alaska media organizations over the weekend.

The book reportedly describes a Palin deeply exasperated with her political opponents and the heightened attacks she faced after being tapped to be the GOP vice presidential nominee in 2008.

"I hate this damn job," Bailey says Palin wrote in an e-mail to him shortly before her resignation in the summer of 2009.

The yet-to-be-published book was leaked to the media and widely circulated over the weekend. It also alleges Palin flagrantly violated campaign law when she closely collaborated with the Republican Governor's Association on a campaign ad in 2006. Because of the RGA's status as a 527 organization, the group can only support candidates independently and are barred from coordinating on strategy.

According to the Daily News, Bailey joined Palin's political team in 2006 and had been in her in her circle until her resignation as governor. He had previously declined all media requests regarding his perceptions of his former boss.

The book was also written by Jeanne Devon, a longtime critic of the former governor who publishes the anti-Palin blog Mudflats, and California author Ken Morris, who has written anti-Palin articles on his own website.

In a posting on Mudflats Friday, Devon writes she is "shock and horrified" that the book has been leaked to the media.

"The toothpaste is out of the tube as they say," she wrote. "So, now there's a little intrigue added to this story, which we certainly would not have chosen, and the consequences of which are yet to be known."

Morris also expressed similar outrage: "One thing I'd like to be very clear about is that the leak was not in any way approved, and the team will protect our rights in the material to the fullest extent of the law. We will seek all legal recourse available against those responsible and those that continue the unauthorized spread of the content," he said.

Pam Pryor, a spokesman for Palin's PAC, told the Anchorage Daily News she did not expect Palin would respond to "this kind of untruth."

Another Palin spokesperson has not responded to CNN's request for comment.

Ms. Palin has gone on the record several times regarding how she deals with what she considers "gotcha" questions. She and her handlers need time to review what was leaked to compare the book to statements she has made in the past. she doesn't want to trip and fall as she back pedals out of any mess she didn't expect to be made public.

Palin seems to understand running for office on the same level as running for kindergarten class president (or beauty pageant). At least her level of political acumen and maturity equates well with kindergartners. Of greater concern to us should be the seeming lessons Rupert Murdock and his Fox News has adopted from 1930's media propaganda in Germany: a virtual rejection of facts; hyping up racial emotion (even their sloganing is distastefully familiar!). They would make Goebbels proud. Are we even aware that one of Murdock's news outlets in the UK is under criminal investigation? As the saying goes, if we do not learn from history, we are bound to repeat its failures.

Mostly, my comment is "No surprises here." Not a very pleasant or honest woman at times: check. Loves money above many things: check. HATED her job: who at times doesn't?

Is it really hard to think that any politcian wouldn't have a disgruntaled ex-employee. To me this was only a matter of time for Palin. She doesn't think or show that she is learning. It appear that Palin doesn't truly have the stomach for being a real politician. If she did, then she would have finished her term. McCain could have done so much better than this ditz. Kay Baily Hutchinson could have been a better choice if he was look for a woman VP.

"Pam Pryor, a spokesman for Palin's PAC, told the Anchorage Daily News she did not expect Palin would respond to "this kind of untruth." "

Are you kidding me? Sarah Palin responds, via Twitter, Facebook, etc. to everything and anything. That's how she stays in the "news". I'm standing by to find out how Michele Obama is behind all of this!

I"m sure Palin supporters will merely dismiss this as further evidence Democrats are "afraid" of this woman and want to destroy her. She broke campaign laws. Are Republicans constantly reminding us they're the party of personal responsibility and the rule of law?

Snow White leads The Seven Dwarfs

The GOP will soon be known as the Party of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs with Sarah "Snow White" Palin leading such GOP Dwarfs as Huckabee, Gingrich, Pawlenty, Daniels, Barbour, Romney and Ron Paul. When Snow White leads, The Seven Dwarfs follow.

It's going to be good to hear from someone who was in the inner circle and knows the truth. Palin seems to always represent herself as some kind of victim, but in fact, she is nothing but a manipulative narcissist.

“Another Palin spokesperson has not responded to CNN's request for comment.”
Don’t worry, Palin will reply, via Facebook/Twitter, and as usual she will attack the messengers instead of addressing the criticism.

This is Palin's future as long as she keeps running her mouth. Everyone around her will be happy to make a few bucks to expose her for what she is. She doesn't inspire confidence and loyalty in her staff or colleagues so they'll be happy to put her out there for public humiliation. She can't handle public office and all that comes with it, she's too busy trying to preserve that fragile image that exists only in her head.

Sarah's response will either be they misunderstood, it's the liberal media, or another attack on my family. I wonder if Bailey could produce the e-mail.

I really hope Bailey isn't fool enough to accept an invitation to go hunting. Of course she needed a rest, a scope and three guides to tell her what to do once the caribou showed up.

Sarah's popularity may go from 20% to 18% after these news. That would certainly put her below the percentage of people who do not like ice cream. 20% is also about the same percentage of people who don't believe Mother Terasa was doing good deeds, or about the same percentage that don't believe we ever landed on the moon. There is absolutely nothing she can do or say that would make her popularity worse than that.

And any of this is a surprise because.....? We already knew she was a thin skinned, sleazy politician with no internal fortitude.
