Rahm Emanuel wins Chicago mayoral vote

Update: President Obama and Rahm Emanuel spoke by telephone Tuesday night after the election results were known and before Emanuel spoke, an Emanuel campaign aide confirms to CNN.

Chicago (CNN) – Rahm Emanuel, the former chief of staff to President Barack Obama, won the Chicago mayoral election over five other challengers Tuesday, topping the 50% threshold to avoid a runoff vote.

With almost 75% of the vote counted, Emanuel had almost 55% of the vote, far outdistancing his rivals.

Well here is a big surprise.. NOT. As soon as he announced that he was running, you knew that he would be "elected" by hook or by crook. This reminds me of that saying: Careful what you wish for, you may just get it. I hereby predict that in 5 years, a group of people around Rham will be indicted for crimes. Rham will be innocent of course.

so he doesn't follow the rules, whines when it gets pushed back at him, the courts let his whines win them over and he illegally gets elected mayor after breaking the rules....guess that means i live in Texas so I can go be mayor of Seattle....I mean if Rahm did it, why can't I. Politicians these days suck....used to that they would deny breaking the rules, yet now they openly break them and do as they wish, against the will of the people....look at Congress, they're a PERFECT example

This is a race for Mayor of a city, right? Why is CNN making it seems like it's for the Presidency? Does anyone think that he would lose the election after being Obama's Chief of Staff? It's like Obama running for Governor after being President. This is not news. Go and report something more meaningful for a change.

Well some things never change. It's comforting to know in these changing times that Chicago's legacy of dirty rotten politics is still alive and kicking. What a joke. Is anyone surprised that Rahm Emanuel won? Of course he was going to win. He wasn't a citizen of Chicago in the last two years and yet they let him run as Mayor anyway. I guess it's still all about money and who you know. If you grease the right palms in City Hall you can buy yourself an office. It makes me sick!

Another union coddling democrat liberal ready to bust Chicago and force more people to move to the relatively honest government in the suburbs. Where will slimy democratic legislators go when Illinois goes broke from the SEIU theft and has to shut down its government? Notice all of these state legislators who don't want to deal with reality and do their jobs hide out in Illinois? It must be like the "Hole in the Wall" for corrupt, union toady state legislators from Wisconsin and Indiana.
