Limbaugh vs. Mrs. Obama part two

(CNN) - On his radio show Tuesday, Rush Limbaugh defended comments he made Monday about the first lady's food choices, calling the remarks "highly civil."

On Monday, he criticized Michelle Obama – who has tackled healthy eating as part of her platform – for a dinner of ribs she consumed on a recent visit to Colorado. The outspoken conservative host said it "doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice."

But on Tuesday's show he expressed surprise at the "grief" he's since received:

"Some people are suggesting that my comments were below the belt," Limbaugh said. "Well, take a look at some pictures. Given where she wears her belts, I mean she wears them high up there around the bust line. Isn't just about everything about her below the belt when you look at the fashion sense she has?"

Limbaugh's comments cap off a week of jabs directed at the first lady over her campaign to fight childhood obesity, taking flak from Rep. Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin, among others, for encouraging mothers to breast feed their children as a way to keep obesity levels down.

Mrs. Obama was also the subject of a controversial cartoon last week on conservative journalist Andrew Breitbart's website, in which an over-weight depiction of the first lady is shown telling her husband, "Shut up and pass the bacon!"

A website devoted to Mrs. Obama's anti-obesity effort lays out how the waistlines of American children have been growing at alarming rates over the last 30 years.

    Current top joke at Kwipster:
(Quipmaster) In response to Limbaugh's plea to the first lady, "If we are supposed to eat roots, berries, and tree bark, show us how," President Obama said, "Allow me."

Typical Communist Crap. We are sick of the Gov regulating and prohibiting what we put in our bodies....and then breaking their own rules. There are 535 people telling 300 million people what to do. Something is going to give.

How can this pile of lard make $50 million a year? What is wrong with you right wingnuts? If anyone went after Laura Bush for being a teacher, you would be squealing like a stuck hog (Limbaugh).

Dumbo must be diggin' pretty deep if all he can come up with is calling down the first lady.
May as well be a writer for some fashion magazine. I doubt they would have him though.
I think old Dumbo has finally jumped the shark.

Some people have pointed out that Rush acts like this to make up for his other manly inadequacies.

What an obnoxious fool! If he had any class at all he would understand that it would be 1/1,000,000 of the class exhibited by the first lady. Unreal – shock jock – BS!

The most influential conservative voice in the country has nothing better to do than to attack the First Lady for being, in his mind, overweight? It is an indicator of how low one side has fallen.

Anyone that looks at Michelle Obama can clearly see that she is a physically fit woman and any attempts to belittle her efforts as first lady based on her looks is both baseless and juvenile. Rush Limbaugh needs to grow up.

Know who else loves ribs, Rush? Everyone. Even healthy eaters take a break once in a while. Rush is destroying conservatism. The younger generation isn't going for the nonsense. It's why they stick to fiscal issues and support libertarians if they go center-right. Though Beck is doing his damndest to destroy that philosophy as well. In reality, neither is truly conservative or libertarian. Or sane, reasonable, thoughtful or honest, for that matter.

So, Rush, you're talking about other people being fat? Hey, you said drug users shouldn't be coddled, where's YOUR taking of your own advice? Hell, I consider myself a conservative republican, but you truly make my stomach turn when I hear your hateful, hypocritical voice.

Hmmm looking at the two, I am going to take diet advice from Rush... maybe Rush should run his legs more and his mouth less... then he could eat a big plate of ribs (like Mrs Obama) without it adding onto his already substantial central adiposity issues...

Rush and those like him have no place in politics. Their shows are more like comedy clubs, but they just aren't very funny. It's all about money and fame for the likes of Rush and his croonies. None of them care about America, only about themselves and how to improve their ratings.

Rush realizes that he's getting all this free publicity by making snarky comments about the first lady. He will now keep doing it, regardless of whether he is reminded of civility or not, because it will get him attention.

Sad. This tactic seems to be the favorite lately among political hacks and commentators. Must keep your name in the news no matter what.

Always enlightening to see the fat pig Limbaugh criticizing others. Maybe that's why he can't stay married to a female.

Rush Limbaugh is just a pig...and a not-very-self-aware pig, at that.

Remember the old saying: Rush, she may be fat but you are fat and ugly. She and you could go on a diet but I am afraid you will be stuck with the "ugly". Please, just once, find something credible to get your audience.

Limbaugh should be criticizing anyone about weight?? That's rich. Clearly the first lady wants to help the obesity in this country but ignorant conservatives cannot grasp that. Like you cannot be healthy and eat ribs or a burger. His argument is stupid, but then again so is his fan base. Rush should take a look at the red states in this nation and notice how they largely shadow the states with the biggest obesity problem. So, maybe the FAT GOP is taking it too personally.

There's nothing worse than a bully. Unless its a fat, deaf bully that makes 40 million a year spreading lies and hate. Rushbo hasn't seen his toes or anything else below his big stomach in years.

I can't understand why conservatives are getting after our first lady when she is only trying to help our children. What is different about wanting our children to be healthier and wanting them to learn to read like Laura Bush did. Each first lady has had some kind of program to help people and I don't remember any of the others getting near as much flack as the right is giiving Mrs. Obama. LET HER ALONE!!!!!!!!!
