Limbaugh vs. Mrs. Obama part two

(CNN) - On his radio show Tuesday, Rush Limbaugh defended comments he made Monday about the first lady's food choices, calling the remarks "highly civil."

On Monday, he criticized Michelle Obama – who has tackled healthy eating as part of her platform – for a dinner of ribs she consumed on a recent visit to Colorado. The outspoken conservative host said it "doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice."

But on Tuesday's show he expressed surprise at the "grief" he's since received:

"Some people are suggesting that my comments were below the belt," Limbaugh said. "Well, take a look at some pictures. Given where she wears her belts, I mean she wears them high up there around the bust line. Isn't just about everything about her below the belt when you look at the fashion sense she has?"

Limbaugh's comments cap off a week of jabs directed at the first lady over her campaign to fight childhood obesity, taking flak from Rep. Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin, among others, for encouraging mothers to breast feed their children as a way to keep obesity levels down.

Mrs. Obama was also the subject of a controversial cartoon last week on conservative journalist Andrew Breitbart's website, in which an over-weight depiction of the first lady is shown telling her husband, "Shut up and pass the bacon!"

A website devoted to Mrs. Obama's anti-obesity effort lays out how the waistlines of American children have been growing at alarming rates over the last 30 years.

Missing the point, I think YOU and RL are the ones who missed the point. She is not ramming anything down anybody throat? You can eat whatever you want all food good or bad is the same as it was before she said a word about “eat healthy”. As far as her vacation? What did you forget that the President and the first lady made a VERY good living in the private sector? You don’t know where the monies came for the trip and even if some government money was spent SHE THE FIRST LADY!!!!!!!!!! Do you honestly think that whatever the trip cost did anything to further mess up the economy? Heck you people mitch if they go out to dinner!!! Like I said in a earlier post keep it up your true colors are showing!!!!

Folks, Rush, Palin and Bachmann, et al. are all trying to get attention and think that President Obama and the first lady will respond to their ignorance. The Obamas will not stoop to their level.

Rush is usually pretty funny but what Mrs Obma eats should be off limits. I can't stand almost anything the Campaigner and Chief does but wives and kids are out of bounds.

The only thing more ridiculous than the statements of third-rate comedian Limbaugh, are the dittoheads that support his multi-millionaire lifestyle.

Quickly becoming irrelevent and he knows it. Pretty soon he will just be the fat version of Ann Coulter. Desperate cries for attention from a faded star. He was funny before the pills, now he is just kind of sad.

Limp-baugh couldn't hold water for the First Lady. Hmmm...she has a Law Degree-what do you have Rush, except a propensity for illicit drugs, fatty foods and long cigars that compensate for what exactly?

    Clown....

I can't help but think that Mr. Limbaugh's sense of what "civil" is more than a little bit off. Furthermore, I also wonder where he gets off talking about *someone else's* weight.

Rush, Palin, Ingram, and Coulter all take issue with the First Lady and her efforts to reduce childhood obesity. They condemn her for "telling" us what to eat and in the same breath feel they have a right to tell her what to eat. At least the First Lady exercises and burns off the rib dinner she eats. Remember there is a bigger picture here. If you can't see the forest for the trees perhaps it's because your head is stuck up your hindquarters.

Soooooo, the "liberal news media" yet again allows a GOPer minion to control the discussion with weapons of mass distraction, purposefully pulling attention away from its responsibility to inform the public about the facts, evidence, expert opinions, historical record, etc., that should be used in forming our policy positions. How very liberally biased of them. After all, who needs facts and accurate information from which to make decisions when you can just listen to some fat bloviating troll screaching platitudes and vitriolic false accusations out from under his ideological bridge? This story should be the only one on the Ticker for the next week and AC360 shoudl focus 58 minutes per episode on it. Nothing could possibly be more helpful in shaping our public discourse.

Anything to make a buck for ratings. Limbaugh is like a 2 page book...or a 1 page book. All he does is try to incite controversy or hate to keep his lunatic base entertained. Personally I boycott all of his sponsors.

Rush is plain stupid!!! Plus he is quite mean and only speaks with fear and hate mongering enticemnts for listeners. Healthy lifestyles, breast feeding should be encouraged for people. Medical Research supports.

Rush calling Michelle Obama "FAT," is ridiculous! Maybe he needs to look in the mirror at himself. Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Those in enormous glass houses should not throw stones. This guy is a tool. Unfortunately, he appeals to those whose sense of humor hasn't progressed past junior high. Apparently, there are a lot of them.

Wow. When your waistline is the same as your height you should refrain from making weight comments. His steady diet of pain pills and efforts to tear the country apart has done nothing to slim down his waistline. That's fine I want him to get fatter and fatter. Maybe a stroke might shut him up once and for all...

And Rush wonders why no one (..who is sane or has a bit if self respect or dignity that is..) supports his rambling. He is nothing more a narrow minded bigot who gets off on "trying to" make the first family look bad. I mean seriously who attacks the FIrst Lady?? Stick to the issues Limbaugh!! He's almost as bad as pyscho Glenn Beck and his attacks on the First Daughters. It is really sickening to that he is allowed to spew his hate & lies on the radio and that some people in this country fully support him. He is a prime example of a modern day Racist!

Geeze, Barbara Bush was X-sized - lovely lady, but no one talked about her size. Didn't matter.

But this guy is lard in the brain and in the body. Pathetic. Shame.

It's people like Rush who give America a bad name. Now, I did not agree with any of the Bushes or Reagan's policies but I would never stoop so low as to attack their wives over something that has been proven to be an epidemic in this country. It would not have mattered what cause the First Lady supported, Rush would have found something to say about it. It just says a lot about a man who attacks a woman over the airwaves. People like Rush will always get what they deserve in the end. What a miserable little person he must be to just sit on his duff all day long and think of ways he can sink even lower. Rush, if you claim to love America so much, here's a thought, try using that loud mouth of yours to say something constructive and help build up this country instead of tearing it to shreds.
