Limbaugh vs. Mrs. Obama part two

(CNN) - On his radio show Tuesday, Rush Limbaugh defended comments he made Monday about the first lady's food choices, calling the remarks "highly civil."

On Monday, he criticized Michelle Obama – who has tackled healthy eating as part of her platform – for a dinner of ribs she consumed on a recent visit to Colorado. The outspoken conservative host said it "doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice."

But on Tuesday's show he expressed surprise at the "grief" he's since received:

"Some people are suggesting that my comments were below the belt," Limbaugh said. "Well, take a look at some pictures. Given where she wears her belts, I mean she wears them high up there around the bust line. Isn't just about everything about her below the belt when you look at the fashion sense she has?"

Limbaugh's comments cap off a week of jabs directed at the first lady over her campaign to fight childhood obesity, taking flak from Rep. Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin, among others, for encouraging mothers to breast feed their children as a way to keep obesity levels down.

Mrs. Obama was also the subject of a controversial cartoon last week on conservative journalist Andrew Breitbart's website, in which an over-weight depiction of the first lady is shown telling her husband, "Shut up and pass the bacon!"

A website devoted to Mrs. Obama's anti-obesity effort lays out how the waistlines of American children have been growing at alarming rates over the last 30 years.

Have people not figured out that anything that comes out of his mouth is worthless, self serving garbage!? His mom must have taught him to think and say anything so long as it makes him feel good about himself! He just talks trash to hear himself talk.

Now Rush is critizing the First Lady for what she eats? You've GOT to be effing KIDDING!!!

There are not enough expletives in all the languages of the Earth combined to describe how WORTHLESS this pitiful EXCUSE FOR A MAN is.

Rush Limbaugh (along with his brownshirted buddy, Glenn Beck) is the absolute personification of everything that is wrong with conservatives, the RethugliKKants, the anti-intellectual, anti-education Right Wing "religous" movement.

But of course, as their hero, Joseph Goebbels once said "A lie repeated long enough and often enough will become the truth".

Of course, if you are a supporter or "fan" of either Rush or Glenn, you probably don't get that reference because you're "too well edumacated" to read or learn anything....

I do not think I have ever seen a first lady take the abuse of Mrs. Obama. I think it is sad when the wing nuts from the right and tea party retards stoop tp the lowest level of humanity. Rush is a fat bloated goat who has not right to question anyone's weight. All first ladies have causes to push and childhood obesity is an importans subject that needs to be discussed not brought down to the low forms of childness the right has made it. They are probably mad because the right wingers are bad parents who take there kids to McDonalds istead of findin healthy alternatives. If this is what the right and tea baggers cry about then they need to get a life. Next it will be the Obama took a dump that was green insted of brown..

What's wrong with a rib dinner? And Rush's further comments about belt lines, etc. are far from civil. They are rude, and they are designed to grab headlines and ratings. At least Mrs. Obama is attempting to do something constructive. What's Mr. Limbaugh done for the children of America lately?

    WHERE IS THE WISDOM?
Can someone explain to me how a "large bouncing barbecue spare-rib" like Rush Limbaugh, retain any credibility with anything he say? Oh yes, I forgot; Rush (like Glenn Beck) has credibility with the hypocritical religious Republican wing-nuts.

the level of stupidity among these fringe Conservatives is astonishing.

Communist crap? Ram this down our throats?

you mean, like Nancy Reagan ramming Just Say No down our throats? Lady Bird Johnson holding the country hostage and forcing us to Keep America Beautiful? Barbara and Laura Bush having the nerve to promote reading for children? It was fine for all of them to encourage healthy, positive habits...but if the evil wicked Obamas do it!? THE HORROR!!!!!

NOTE TO THE FRINGE RIGHT: the more you do this, the more RIDICULOUS, OUT OF TOUCH and DOWNRIGHT PARANOID you make yourselves appear. Congrats.

Rush's comments prove our nation’s political dialogue has moved so far beyond mud slinging hate speech it’s back full circle to mud slinging hate speech. Makes one proud to be an American.

Its actuallty not a non issue like alot of you are saying. The government has already begun regulating how and what we eat. banning trans fats, salts, sugars, etc... sounds like talk from crazies but its going on as we speak. look at what they just passed regarding school lunches. Since when do politicians know what is best for me??

And regarding the breast feeding things... talk about out of context... they make it sound like these guys are against it... they are against SUBSIDIES to be provided by the government to people to do this... if ya think we are that incompetent that we now need the government to provide that too then I don't know what else to say...

Mrs. Obama is hurting the school lunch program by pushing foods the children will not eat so they bring their lunch or go out to eat if the school allows like some high schools here in Colorado. Let the children eat what they like not what some liberal elitist say they should eat.

What the heck is "nutritionary"? Limbaugh not only makes up "facts," he makes up words, as well. Another sign that his brain has been addled by all the drugs he's taken ...

Personal attacks is all the Republicans have. Their policies are PROVEN FAILURES. I mean, really, folks, if "trickle-down" economics worked, then why after all the tax cuts for the rich, our country ended up in the toilet financially? When you de-regulate the greedy, they just take more and more for themselves, getting away with whatever they can.

People in this country need to grow up before it's too late and accept that Uncle Ronnie was wrong ...

No one is telling you that you have to feed your children properly. Anyone can be a parent no matter how ignorant and irresponsible. There is an obesity epidemic in the US and it has serious health consequences mainly, type 2 diabetes, which can leave your child blind and promises an early death, heart disease, etc. What is wrong with the first lady trying to get people to eat better? Did you complain when Laura Bush promoted libraries? Did you say, "Get the government off our backs. My children will be illiterate if I want them to be illiterate?" Besides you and your fat children are a drain on the economy and the health care system.

Get off it, Limbaugh; plenty of First Ladies have done their part to better our country, including:

    - Dolly Madison engaged in efforts to assist orphans and women
    - Eleanor Roosevelt authored a weekly newspaper column and hosted a radio show
    - Lady Bird Johnson pioneered environmental protection and beautification
    - Pat Nixon encouraged volunteerism
    - Betty Ford supported women's rights
    - Rosalynn Carter aided those with mental disabilities
    - Nancy Reagan founded the Just Say No drug awareness campaign
    - Barbara Bush promoted literacy
    - Hillary Rodham Clinton sought to reform the healthcare system
    - Laura Bush supported women's' rights groups and encouraged childhood literacy

Her and Obama never follow the change they put out. That is aLL rhetoric to make ethemselves electibal. There is no truth in either of them. Come on followers of Obama's and repeat your same old comments of blaming the GOP and Palin. Hee, Hee I am a independent. AND I DON'T LIKE OBAMA THE BRIANLESS.

Mrs. Obama IS practicing what she preaches: She has frequently said that people should try to eat healthy and that an occasional treat is OK. Exercise and stay active. And that's what she does.

AND IT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOUR DOCTOR WOULD TELL YOU!

Where were all you yahoos complaining about Laura Bush trying to "shove books down your throat" when she was promoting literacy? Where were all the complaints that Mrs. Bush was telling us to never do anything except read? Where were all the complainers when a photo of Mrs. Bush was taken when SHE WASN'T HOLDING A BOOK IN HER HAND?!?

All you rightwing nutjobs embarrass me to no end that you and I share citizenship.... you are all pathetic, petty jerks! (With a fat, drug-addicted, four-times married ignoramus as your leader!)

Did Rush Limbaugh get this mad when Julia Child – an American woman who was also internationally famous – told people, "All things in moderation" and admitted that she occasional ate a hamburger?

An intelligent attack on the first lady made by a draft dodging, pill popping, four time loser ex husband. Yeah Rush.......attacking women is about your speed. You had a chance to do battle with the men and dodged it. Take another Oxy Contin moron.

I consider myself rather conservative. Anyone trying to tackle the nation's obesity problem has my support regardless of political affiliation, it's a problem that MUST be addressed. To make comments personal in the way Limbaugh has is inexcusable. By making comments like this he has made himself invalid as a credible pundit, reducing his ideas to merely an attempt to be funny. How can you take someone serious that makes comments like that?

Has anyone contacted the restaurant (Kelly Liken) to fact-check Limbaugh claim about the calories and fat of the meal Mrs. Obama had?

According to Vail Daily (the local newspaper that did contact Kelly Liken), "A braised short rib is a relatively lean cut of beef, braised with most of the fat cooked off. The 5-ounce serving runs about 600 calories."

Limbaugh said the the ribs were 1575 calories per serving and 141 grams of fat per serving, making his count off by 975 calories.

God forbid Rush should ever let the truth get in the way of his drug-induced rantings ...

Remember when Rush would say terrible things about drup addicts. Then he ended up being one. Every night Rush tries to think of things he can say to generate more income for himself. With this comment he just proved he is a pathetic fool. It is a terrible sham that someone so worthless can make so much money and influence so many people.

Limbaugh is the LAST person who should be criticizing someone else's weight or looks! I am a very healthy weight. I maintain it by eating as healthy as possible 6 days a week. One day a week I have whatever I want for dinner. If I am hungry for ribs, I have ribs. Sometimes I don't even want something "bad." It works for me. Just because Mrs. Obama ate ribs once doesn't mean she isn't into living a healthy lifestyle. A healthy lifestyle does not mean that you cannot indulge once in a while. Limbaugh is such an IDIOT, but of course he has proven that over and over again.
