Debt ceiling: Battle heats up

New York (CNNMoney) - Everybody's talking about debt. No wonder: The country's tab is a whisker away from the current debt ceiling.

The rhetoric is already loud, harsh and, at times, misleading. And there is more to come.

Now that I understand the "debt ceiling" a little more now – If you can't sand the HEAT – get out of the kitchen!!!

Conservatives are not much in to helping Americans. If a hurricane strikes Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, or even Massachusetts, they do not want their government tax dollars going to help people stupid enough to live there. The same is true for flooding in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana. When earthquakes hit California or Alaska or the midwest, same thing, no tax dollars because they are stupid enough to live there. Illegal immigration in New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, Florida and New York: no government help because people knew that was a problem before they moved there. Volcanoes erupting in Hawaii, Oregon, or Washington, sorry, you knew what you were getting into. This is in the name of the new right wing christianity?

    And remember kiddies:
Carter restricting federal unions with the 1978 Civil Service Act – good

GOP Govs restricting state unions – bad??
