(CNN) – The posters and placards carried by Wisconsin demonstrators will soon become an official part of the nation's legacy, adorning the walls of the Smithsonian's Museum of American History.
A curator is traveling to the Badger State to document protests over legislation that would curb the collective bargaining rights of most state workers, according to a museum spokeswoman. The bill prompted hundreds to occupy the state Capitol for weeks as demonstrators chanted political slogans and waved banners in opposition.
I think it is important to preserve in history the "gangster" republican government of Wisconsin and its destruction of the middle class.
This will be good documentation of Republican Party's focused efforts to bring the Federal and State governments into control in response to the economic recession. It's not pleasant having the good and dedicated public workers so distressed about the necessary changes, but good politicians need to take their responsibilities seriously as well.
The Koch brothers are becoming more and more open in their attempt to destroy people's rights. Remember when they just donated quietly to buy their elected officials? Now the Bircher boys are as visible and active as Fox, busing baggers everywhere to protect their corporate love slaves.
They should most certainly document how Democrats have abandoned their jobs. How they stood against Democracy. How Democratic principles were important only until they no longer held a majority.
It's no wonder why Democrats are completely out of touch with America.
You get what you vote for. Those of you who wanted republicans in charge got it. Now live with it.
Republicans are truly stupid people, they don't have an idea of who they are fighting for. Walker is not attacking some banker, or greedy businessman that stole all of his employees 401K and is responsible for the US recession, he's attacking YOUR teachers, YOUR nurses, YOUR public workers, and indirectly YOUR police and YOUR firefighters.
So next time you join the Koch Tea Bag Party ask yourself who you are fighting for, the Koch brother profits or your EVERYDAY HEROS???
Oh never mind, party before principles eh Republicans? All the way off the edge of the cliff...at least the Smithsonian gets the point ;)
My buddy was involved in the clean-up inside the capital and said he could not believe how the Democrats and progressive had trashed the place. He said there were places that they deficated in corners and then stayed over night in there with one another. He said some of the progressives there were not even there for the overpaid goverment employees, they were there for the free sandwiches. He said he has never seen anything as nasty. But he took the job because he got laid off and needed to suport his family in these tough times so he cleaned and cleaned and mopped but said the smell would hardly go away!
