Boston, Massachusetts (CNN) – Hours before President Obama was to fly to Boston to push his administration's education initiative, two congressmen from the president's own party held a press conference to protest the administration's proposed budget cuts to a program to help the poor afford heating oil.
Massachusetts congressmen Jim McGovern and Michael Capuano joined former Democratic congressman Joe Kennedy to criticize the administration's attempts to cut in half the $5.1 billion budget to fund LIHEAP, the low income energy assistance program.
Kennedy and his bunch of fools should give their millions to anyone that they want to. It is not the job of the government to take the taxpayers money and redistribute it. That is socialism PERIOD !!! We better get our debt under control or nobody will have any money.
Thank you Mr. McGovern and Mr. Capuano. Thank you for not abandonning the principles of the people that elected you. Although I agree with Obama on most issues, this crosses the line. But I'm glad to see some people are standing up to this atrocity.
Well, that was to be expected, do not come between a Democrat and someone else's money.
This is the state (Massachusetts) that gave the Senate seat of Senator Kennedy to a repug (largely because the dems couldn't run a strong candidate). Elections have consequences, and Americans will see more and more that the repugs' plan is to take from the poor and middle class to appease the rich.
I do feel that President Obama caved in to the repugs to easily last fall.
That's good – he's getting it from BOTH sides – President Obama will sleep well tonight!!!
Sebelius, Obama, Pelos, and Reid should be in prison. If you, or I cooked the books, embezzeled, or stole a loaf of bread to feed our family, we'd go to jail ... but, when an elected politician steals 105 BILLION DOLLARS from the hard working American people, they get away with it. These corrupt swine should get jail time ... period !!!
