Angle running for Congress

(CNN) – Sharron Angle, the conservative firebrand who narrowly lost her bid to unseat Sen. Harry Reid last November, announced Wednesday she will now seek a congressional seat.

In an e-mail to supporters, the former Nevada State Assemblywoman said she plans to run for the 2nd Congressional District seat being vacated by current GOP Rep. Dean Heller.  Heller, a two-term congressman, announced Tuesday he will run for the Senate seat scandal-plagued John Ensign is giving up.

"Harry Reid still rules the U.S. Senate, holding up government spending cuts and other legislation passed by the Republican majority in the House.  Nancy Pelosi still organizes the Democrats, working her hardest to keep funding Planned Parenthood and NPR," Angle wrote in her announcement e-mail.  "Friend, the job still needs doing."

Angle's impassioned and at-times controversial rhetoric during her 2010 Senate bid drew national headlines, as did her penchant for avoiding inquiries from local and national media.  But she successfully drew significant levels of support throughout the economically depressed state, losing to Reid by less than 6 percentage points.

Nevada's 2nd Congressional District encompasses nearly all of the state besides Las Vegas and its surrounding suburbs, and includes all of the counties Angle won in 2010.

Two other Republicans, Lt. Gov. Brian Krolicki, and state Sen. Mark Amodei are also considering bids for the now-open House seat

This woman is in the mental pygmy category with Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman. Where does the GOP find such ignorant and uncaring women who do not really understand the full meaning of "public service?"

No age offense intended but I am sick of looking at and listening to boomers who missed the whole progressive movement in the 1960's and 1970's. I have two of them who represent me in Wisconsin (Moulton and Larsen) and they act like grumpy old people with little new to add to the debate other than they seem chronically pissed off unless they are harming someone. Let's get the new generations in there conversative and/or liberal but certainly progressive.

LOL But then there is DUMB (Limbaum); Dumber (Beck); and DUMBEST (Hannity)..... OMG what a fun year it is going to be watching the 6 people joust for the top roll of IDIOT!!!! I am a proud Republican Conservative, but these 6 are an embarrassment............ And did I hear right that Palin was in India on a speaking tour to tell the Indians what she expects from American and what it will look like in the future.... Oh God help us........... LOL

I can't think of anything to say: this is beyond belief that she would even think of running after dropping the golden egg she was handed the last time out. But, we are also dealing with someone who is delusional. She just handed the Dems another seat in Congress.

Narrowly lost?!? An 8 point loss is hardly narrowly. the fine people of NV saw her as she really is, a fruit cake. If she's so good why isn't she running for the senate again? The reason is it's a statewide position and she already found out the state thinks she the fruit cake that she is. Her only hope is to get the rural congressional seat, maybe the press won't ask any questions up there in the northern part of the state.

Haven't the whacko hate-mongers gotten the hint yet? We don't want their kind of leadership.

To put a positive spin on the tea Partiers, they do provide fodder for comedians.

Still – the inevitable occasional victory does not advance the cause of good government when they incorrectly assume they now have a mandate to bring everything to a stop..

More morons running for office. I pity her state if she is elected but I also pity the nation as more TeaPublicans bring in more of their "Family Values" and force them upon us.

If Nevadans are stupid enough to vote for this woman, God Help them. There has GOT to be someone more capable and qualified than her. Please don't make me lose all my faith in the American voter. My faith was damaged enough in 2010 with the election of so many tbaggers. Please don't destroy it totally.

Run, Jesus, Ruuuuun. Uh, er, um, Angle, ruuun. But, 1st 40 days of fasting and babbling to yourself in the Nevada desert.

Seems she's maybe smarter that we think. It's a lot easier to stay insulated in a sparcely populated desert than to make yourself a laughing stock of the coutry by running for POTUS.

She is still ill-informed and quie honestly not capable of doing this job either – she and those like her, Palin, Bachmann, O'Donnell should retire to their private lifes and leave the rest of the public alone!

Even a 1/4 inch deep pancake makeup can't hide her wrinkles or her stupidity. Please, God, give the people of NV enough sense to NOT even listen to this woman's warped lies.

Excuse me, Mr. Mooney, but did you ever take political science in college? Harry Reid beat Angle by 6% in 2010. She didn't "narrowly lose" she got soundly defeated. You make her sound like a popular politician as opposed to the nut she is.

"Sharron Angle, the conservative firebrand who narrowly lost her bid to unseat Sen. Harry Reid last November, announced Wednesday she will now seek a congressional seat."

Firebrand isn't quite the term I would use to describe Sharron Angle, CNN. Strange that so many anti-government GOPer/TeaPers are so intent on remaining on the government pay roll, and as such, spend 3/4 of their adult lives wanting more, not less, government payments in their lives . . . all the while lambasting those who are currently employed in Federal or State positions. Just saying.
