Obama takes flak for ESPN appearance

(CNN) – Republicans are taking aim at President Obama Wednesday for appearing on an ESPN segment to reveal his bracket picks for the NCAA Basketball tournament.

The GOP's beef?  The president should be focusing his attention elsewhere.

"How can @BarackObama say he is leading when puts his NCAA bracket over the budget & other pressing issues?" tweeted Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus Tuesday.

Appearing in a brief segment Wednesday, Obama, as he has in past years, unveiled his bracket picks, ultimately choosing Kansas, Duke, Ohio State, Pitt for his final four.   Before revealing the picks, the president did urge viewers to go to usaid.gov to donate to charities that are assisting in the aftermath of the earthquake in Japan.

Still, RNC spokeswoman Kirsten Kukowski said the White House should "explain why filming an ESPN special on the NCAA tournament should be a priority on his public schedule."

For the record, Obama is picking Kansas to go all the way.

"Kansas has more firepower," he said.

And the repubs should be focusing their attention elsewhere, like on JOBS, instead of bashing the president every 5 seconds, trying to bust unions, destroy the middle class, take away women's right to reproductive health care, etc, etc, etc! oh, and i forgot, all their illicit affairs of the opposite and same sex. so much for the party of family values!

I want everyone to remember this. If President Obama's pick loses... wait for it.... the GOP wil jump all over it saying he lacks experience picking basketball games, or better yet they will ask, did he place a bet on the teams Socailism! go back to Klan table(oh i am sorry i mean TEA Party Table) and come up with something NEW. I bet you all have a problem with him being left handed.

Where were the GOP complaints when Bush was riding his bicycle while the economy was in a downward spiral? These people need to stop making press statements and start creating the jobs that they promised back in September that got them into office. Where are those jobs? I don't hear much from the Tea Party lately about how great their picks are doing.

RNC people get a life, for heaven's sake! This is an American past-time. By your standard he should not take time to go to the bathroom. The good thing is he can walk and chew gum. If some of your congress people would take time to fill out their brackets and smile a little, they would seem more real and less scary. You turn everything into an attack on the president and it does not stick. Americans see how desperate you are and what you intend to do with this country e.g. Scott Walker, Wisconsin. Since you are all such christians read Psalm 24...The earth is the Lord's and the fullnes thereof....The President believes that and so he can go on and do his job and take time out when necessary.

    Relax! Release! Relate! Smile!

this is just more childish politics. If it was a republican president they would be delighted. This kind of thing is a very good example of the venom that engulfs the GOP. I've almost always voted republican, and am a conservative by nature, but this incessant, poisonous approach to anything and everything that doesn't agree with their worldview has turned me away.

The left had no problem going after President Bush everytime he took time off, and I do believe now we have a lot more pressing issues going on all over the world, for our President to be jet setting, campaigning, and running all over the country.

The arrogance of the liberals in this country is only surpassed by their ignorance. Sometimes I truly feel sorry for you, not having enough brain cells to have a sentient thought. If I were you, I would run down to your nearest Walmart, pick up a few more cells then try real hard to actually understand the problems that this country and the world are facing before you spew your ignorance on the blogs.
