How Pawlenty's life story prepared him for possible White House run

Washington (CNN) – Tim Pawlenty, a Minnesota native, has a compelling life story, an indirect path to the political spotlight.

His mom died of ovarian cancer when he was 16. His dad, acting as a single parent, lost his job as a truck driver for a while. To help put himself through college and then later law school, the young Pawlenty worked for several years in the produce section at a grocery store.

CNN Poll: Most support no fly zone in Libya but not ground troops

Washington (CNN) – Seven in ten Americans support military action by the U.S. and other countries to establish a no-fly zone in Libya, a 14-point increase since last week, according to a new national poll.

But a CNN/Opinon Research Corporation survey also indicates there is less among the public for air strikes that directly target Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi's troops who are fighting opposition forces, and only one in four want to send ground forces into the conflict.

American Sauce: Health care law turns one

Capitol Hill (CNN) – One year ago today, the House of Representatives narrowly but decisively passed the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, 221-219. Within days, the health care bill was signed by the president and became, as it is now, Public Law 111-148.

But implementation of some of the bigger health reform chunks is not going as expected.

Barbour heading west to Nevada

(CNN) - Add Nevada to the crucial early states in the road to the White House that Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour's visiting.

CNN confirmed Monday that the probable 2012 GOP presidential hopeful will meet with Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval and lunch with GOP lawmakers Tuesday in Carson City, Nevada.

Pelosi goes to hospital, released in Italy

(CNN) - Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-California, went to a hospital in Rome, Italy, on Monday but a spokesman says she has been released and has continued with her trip.

The House Democratic leader's office released a statement saying, "After several flights yesterday in Afghanistan, and a long flight back to Italy that arrived early this morning, Leader Pelosi was not feeling well. This morning in Rome, the Leader was advised to visit a clinic, and the closest medical facility was a hospital. The Leader is now resuming her schedule in Italy."

DSCC brings in more, has more, but owes more, than NRSC

Washington (CNN) – As the next battle for the Senate heats up, the Democrat's re-election committee brought in more money than its Republican counterpart in February.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Monday reports raising more than $3.4 million last month, which they say is the strongest February cash haul by either Senate party committee ever in an off election year.

Biden to Boston for party gathering

Washington (CNN) - Vice President Joe Biden heads to Boston Monday to headline a Democratic Party event.

The official White House schedule says the vice president will attend an event for the Democratic National Committee. A source with knowledge of the gathering tells CNN it is not a fundraiser, but rather a chance for Biden to meet with financial supporters and potential supporters.

Trump: I 'screwed' Gadhafi

(CNN) – Donald Trump, whose flirtations with a presidential bid continue, says he has special experience dealing with Libyan leader Moammer Gadhafi.

Speaking on Fox News Monday, Trump says he has more of a track record than anyone in the Republican presidential field when it comes to dealing with foreign leaders and dignitaries: "I sell them real estate for tremendous amounts of money. I mean, I've dealt with everybody."
