McCain gets cast

(CNN) - Casting continues for HBO's upcoming movie "Game Change," based on the bestselling book that chronicled the 2008 presidential campaign.

Four-time Oscar-nominated actor Ed Harris is set to play John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential nominee, according to a release from HBO.

Julianne Moore was cast this month as Sarah Palin, McCain's running mate in the last election.

HBO said the film will focus on McCain's losing campaign. Time Warner is the parent company of CNN and HBO.

Geesh! Ed Harris is getting old. He's come a long way from The Rock.

Ed Harris is great – and with his talent and range he'll be able to cover all of John McCain’s multiple personalities. From the hero who served honorably in the Vietnam conflict, then as rational and thoughtful Statesman, then the crazed tea-bagger appeasing psycho of 2010, and the now current rabid follower of “NO”. Harris will be able to nail the twisted tantrums, and all the failures right down to foolishly picking Palin as a running mate.
