Trump again questions Obama's birthplace

(CNN) – Real estate mogul Donald Trump called on President Barack Obama Wednesday to produce his birth certificate and prove he was born in the United States.

"I want him to show his birth certificate. I want him to show his birth certificate," Trump said on ABC's "The View." "There's something on that birth certificate that he doesn't like."

The potential 2012 presidential candidate said Obama was "probably" born in the U.S., but repeated questions he raised last week about the president's childhood.

"If you go back to my first grade, my kindergarten, people remember me. Nobody from those early years remembers him," Trump said. "If you're going to be president of the United States, it says very profoundly you have to be born in this country."

Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie said he was a friend of Obama's parents in Hawaii and remembers when the future president was born. Abercrombie, a fellow Democrat and longtime congressman who won election as governor last November, vowed to produce an original copy of the president's birth certificate. But he abandoned those efforts earlier this year because it is against state law to release private documents, according to his spokeswoman.

In 2008, the Obama presidential campaign produced a certification of live birth that reported his birthplace as Honolulu, Hawaii. He attended kindergarten there before moving to Jakarta, Indonesia with his stepfather at age six. Katherine Nakamoto, Obama's kindergarten teacher described in 2009 to the Maui News what Obama was like as a five year old: "He was a cute, likable, heavy build-child. I could visualize Barry smiling, dressed in his long-sleeved, white shirt tucked into his brown Bermuda shorts, and wearing laced shoes."

Trump's original comments last week won praise from one Tea Party leader.

"Donald Trump has joined a lot of really sane Americans. He, like us, does not believe Barack Obama," Judson Phillips, the founder of the Tea Party Nation, said in an email Saturday to his group's supporters. "The great thing about what Donald did is he said it and he did not flinch when he said it. A lot of the alleged conservative leaders have run like cockroaches when the lights are turned on from the eligibility issue. The fact that Trump will deal with that issue and deal with it head on raises his stock as a possible Presidential candidate in a lot of people's eyes."

In Wednesday's interview, Trump, who has said he is seriously considering a bid for the White House, changed the subject to America's standing in the world when asked what voters in the next presidential election might think of his three marriages.

"I think the country is doing so badly they want somebody that's going to help it," Trump said. "I think maybe ten years, five years ago, it would have mattered. I think people want somebody to protect them and protect the country."

For all you thiinking Trump would help with our financial crisis newsflash: THE COUNTRY CAN'T FILE FOR BANKRUPTCY LIKE TRUMP HAS DONE WITH HIS FAILED BUSINESS VENTURES...that being said it is amazing how people are so willing to fight against their own self interest in all of these issues. One quote always comes to mind, "Careful of how you treat people on your way up cause they are the same people you'll meet on your way back down." America is going through a rough patch and the sooner we realize we are ALL IN THIS TOGETHER the better it will be for future generations of Americans.

OMG! Trump is considered "sane"; The Donald is just a nasty, womanizing trick.......
I'm just wondering, can Trump also see Russia from his backyard like Sara Palin?
Or has Palin "refudiated" her claim to be able to see Russia from her home????

God, Donald....just shut it already. All you're proving is two things....firstly, you're an ashhole for bringing up this non-issue again. Nobody cares, honestly.. Secondly, you're making a mockery of American politics. Shame on anyone who thinks this blowhard with his god-awful comb-over, who's had a silver spoon in his mouth his whole entire life, is somehow "presidential" material?
I didn't think this was possible – but by your big talk and arrogant attitude, you're actually making politicians look good.

Due to the circumstances of his mother's involvement in foreign lands, and foreign partners, it is perfectly natural to question whether Hawaii issued a birth certificate, without confirmation that the birth actually took place, in Hawaii.

I don't think that is, in fact, an unreasonable question to raise. the fact there is a birth certificate, is no longer the question. the question is, is it VALID?

    1. Jason Phillips certainly knows cockroaches. He co-founded a group for them.
    2. Trump, do you really want everyone checking your background, from the bottom up? Are you ready to answer
questions that will certainly be raised about your personal life, your business dealings, your Beliefs (if you have
any), and are you ready to back up all of your idiotic statements such as "you are smart", how many people have
you screwed, business wise and elsewhere, reveal you tax statements, and any revelations that may come up
regarding exactly where you money is kept? Beware Trump, before you get trumped. Better just keep up the
facade and let the really "smart" ones handle this.

Good for Donald Trump! He is saying what others are thinking and afraid to ask. Why not show the birth certificate and shut everyone up? I also agree with Trump about diplomats overseas not being able to deal with the finances . It is ruining our country. Send our best Wall street businessmen over there to work the deals. I was never a big fan of Trump but he will get my vote because he is for our country's best interests.

What's funny and pretty scary is that people will vote for this guy thinking he knows how to run a business even though he has gone through 3 major bankruptcies.

I wonder how many throwing stones at Trump would be wiling to pay $2 million in lawyer fees to avoid showing their long form birth certificate as Obama has. Governor Abercrombie searched for over two months for that birth certificate without success before suddenly abandoning the effort for "privacy" reasons. Note that he's not a birther, he was trying to help the family by debunking the no birth certificate claim once and for all, so I'm sure he would have produced it if it existed. He could have easily redacted any "private" information.

Does Trump really believe that or is it just some way to get that stupid question back into the news. He would NOT have been able to become a president if he was not American.,.

DT is absolutley right. What is he hiding from ? Everything is a secret. Will we find out about the mesiah ?
Where are his college records ? What is on his official school transcripts that was so important for the school to loose or misplace them. Get real, I'm older than he is and mine are computerized.
IMaybe he applied as a foreign national in order to get aid, grants, or scholarships of some sort ? Or maybe his place of birth says something other than Hawaii ? It all smells and at the rate this guy has lied to us already...
It's time for BO to shine some light on the subject.

You know what people!!!!. Mr & Mrs Obama knew 50 years ago that Barrack Husein Obama would be President of the USA. They advertised the briths in the Haiwaii news papers. They then inserted chips in to his brain and programmed him to head to the USA mainland and get an educaiton. Then they programmed him to go to Chicago and become a Senator in the US Senate. Further, they programmed him to seek the Presidency while Defeating the Clintons in the primary. They then programmed him to beat John McCain and become the President of the USA. Mr & Mrs Obama are truely amazing. They must be closer to God. (all said in sarcasm ).

    Think about it.

Trump is a joke. A rich, arrogant jerk who thinks he is better than anyone else. His pathetic sucking up to the right wing "birthers" should NOT be reported.

To those that keep saying the only thing acceptable is an original birth certificate, need to check their facts and cut the crap
The same form he has produced is used in Hawaii to get a passport and to join the armed services.
Maybe Trump should do a bit of homework along with all the others that continue to carry this issue forward
The only thing they will gain, is the assurance that the independents vote democrat in the next election because they are so totally fed up with the bs

Now Donald Trump is weighing in on this topic. What else does he have to do? He is now a trouble maker like rest of the "dumbass" birthers's are. However, he really has nothing lose and something to gain, which for him will not be reachable.
