McCain won't watch 'Game Change'

(CNN) – He is set to be portrayed by a four-time Oscar nominee, but Arizona Sen. John McCain says he has no intention of watching Ed Harris' upcoming interpretation of him.

"He's a very fine actor and a great actor," McCain said during an appearance on Fox News Sunday. "I obviously haven't read the book, so I don't think I'll be watching the film."

HBO revealed last week Harris would star as the former presidential candidate in the cable network's adaptation of "Game Change" – the bestselling 2009 book by journalists John Heilemann and Mark Halperin that provided an inside look into the 2008 presidential campaign.

The movie will focus on the book's largely-negative portrayal of the McCain campaign, especially the reportedly hasty decision to pick then-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as the vice presidential nominee.

"I've been made very aware about its depiction of me, and it is what it is," McCain added.

In addition to Harris, actress Julianne Moore will play the role of Sarah Palin and Woody Harelson will depict McCain's campaign manager, Steve Schmidt.

Why didn't our media help promote Matthew Continetti's book "The persecution of Sarah Palin"? "Because it was sympathetic to Palin of course.

No surprise that he won't watch. He's trying to erase from his mind the monumental mistake he made in unleashing that lethal virus in a VP candidate on the country. It will probably go down as the biggest event in his legacy of serving in the government...I'd try to forget too. Go Palin! Win the nomination and confirm to everyone how truly stupid you are...except the sheep who will still worship you

    This should be hilarious!

McCain completely destroyed his legacy when he picked Palin.

Like a fish flapping around on a dock in the hot sun, its great to see someone so shallow, cheap and self serving, abandon all his values in desperate attempts to get re-elected.

You have to feel a little sorry for Cindy. She clearly deserved better.

He wouldn't want to re-live the biggest mistake of his life – providing the stage for the Palin to expose herself.

Wonder if, during his most quiet moments, McCain has ever sat back and acknowledged to himself that he will forever be tied to Sarah Palin. Her each and every Facebook utterances . . . her each and every FOX News utterances . . . her each and every *lamestreet* media utterances, will forever be linked to John McCain, not only as the man who unleashed her onto America, but also as the man who gave her the power she now glorifies herself in . . . as she continues to destroy not only the Republican Party, but the best of America as well.

The fact that he admits that he never read the book indicates to me that he is not interested in other opinions. Surely not Presidential material.

Perhaps we can see the foortage of McCain being shot down in Vietnam? From what I'm reading and have heard from McCain in interviews, he flew into the SAM missile which normally is a rear approach, heat seeker. And he ran into it? Thew himself on the grenade to save his buddies or was he flying in the opposite direction of the battle?
