March jobs report: Jobs gain, unemployment falls

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) – The job market continued to improve in March as strong business hiring took the unemployment rate to its lowest level in two years.

The economy gained 216,000 jobs in the month. That's better than the gain of 180,000 predicted by economists surveyed by CNNMoney, and also a significant improvement over the 194,000 jobs added in February.

With energy prices going up the way they are and inflation getting out of controll again this will be short lived. If some think I'm wrong about inflation you haven't been keeping up with food and energy prices.

Just wait until they have to adjust those numbers later in the month. Lately, any "good news" report is later followed by a "revised" report.

Good employment numbers are bad news for republicans. They need to lay off a couple million public-sector workers to make up for it. And that's exactly what they're working on.

When is the repugs going to come up with a job policy of their own, instead of trying to destroy the job policies Obama and the dems put in place. Yes I know we have to fiscal responsible, but we can't afford to jeopardize those recovery, throwing us back into a double dip recession, if we allow these backward driven ideologist to starting the car again. They want to shut down government to send the global market into a tail spin. I know most of them don't have a 401k and wouldn't give a dam about those who have, while they balance the budget, while half of America is in shambles. Dems you need to stand up to these lunatics and stress responsible pull back, instead of blind pull back because it seems right.

and I predict that the Republicans will come out and try to take credit for it. You know them MAKING President Obama extend those Bush tax cuts that for some reason weren't creating too many jobs in the 10 years they existed. But on the other hand they sort of have to do this because an improving economy helps Obama in 2012.....so it's "hey hey don't forget about us". Laughable really

YES! The economy is bouncing back according to the graph. I really don't care who wants to take credit. I guess the increase jobs makes sense.

Did you know that CEO salaries at most major companies jumped even more dramatically over the same months? Yeak, they did. I think they are grossly overpaid.

Some say it is because we put them up on pedastals. We do? Says who? Not me. How about you? That's what I thought, another self-serving untruth. They CEOs are the ones who say that to rationalize their embezzlement.

30 years ago, CEOs at major banks were making less than 5 million per year, most made around 2-3. Today, multiply those numbers by 100.

A drop in the bucket, which will be quickly offset by June, in teacher job losses.

This is almost laughable, I told my husband after the Nov. elections to look for some wonderful news on everything from employment to the economy, I figured once BHO started campaigning the numbers would get cooked to make it look like he had actually started to turn things around. In my opinion, it's just smoke and mirrors. We're still in a mess.

things have taken a turn for the better since the last election....but tons more needs to be done ,,,, its business that makes jobs not the government....

Plain and simple. Tax cuts work better than government "stimulus" to put people back to work. The people who create jobs are creating jobs again. Want to know what Speaker Boehner and the Republicans are doing about their promises to put Americans back to work? They are putting Americans back to work. Everyone wins.

That's okay, Republicans are already coating this as a bad sign and one that shows how out of touch Obama is (usually by calling him Obummer or something childish). Y'know – the Tea Partier line of thinking – war is peace, ignorance is strength and all that.

If the unemployment rate keeps falling Obama will be UNBEATABLE in 2012.

Tax cuts are not the reason the unemployement rate is getting better. We have had these tax cuts inplace for 10 years now and just because they got extended cannot be a reason for 8.8
