Beck ending show on Fox

(CNN) - Fox News Channel anchor Glenn Beck will end his daily show later this year to develop and produce a variety of television projects to air on the channel, according to a release Wednesday.

The new agreement between FNC and Mercury Radio Arts will ensure Beck appears on the television network and through other "digital properties."

"Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody's standards. I look forward to continuing to work with him," Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes said in a statement.

"Glenn Beck" launched in 2009. The host previously hosted a show on CNN's sister network HLN.

Howard Kurtz, Washington bureau chief for The Daily Beast and host of CNN's "Reliable Sources" said the split was a "divorce many months in the making."

"By the end, both sides wanted out," Kurtz said in an email. "Beck's show proved too radioactive for Fox, and the network became an uncomfortable home for Glenn Beck."

If they can just get rid of O'Reilly and Cannity also that would be great. Less stupid people on TV is a good thing.

Im glad to see him go. He was obnoxious, arrogant, and a liar. He manipulated others words in order to make himself sounds intelligent. BTW I am a Republican and a fiscal conservative.

will he just disappear forever into the shadows? Possibly co-host a show with Pee-Wee Herman; Pee-Wee will be the intellectual and Beck will be the silly adolescent acting bafoon. What a hit show that would be. It might be called "Pee-Wee's" White Supremist Advenure. Let's go GLEN!!!!! All aboard, Toot, Toot!!!!

The common sense and intelligent people that habitat this planet are too uncomfortable for Mr Beck...who truly believes all the rethoric and lies that he pours out, everyday...he belongs in the Tea Party Circus along with the Showmaster, Donald Trump...and all the haters of the President of the United States....(simply because he's black?!).....

looks like fox has had enough of his truth movement. His show will get replaced by women talking about celebrity fashion, that is until the meteors tear there studio to shreds. Hopefully they will be on the air when it happens.

Divorce? No. They love Glenn. Kurtz just wishes it was a bad breakup because Beck is kicking CNN's butt in all categories. Glenn tells the truth and provides evidence. CNN (Communist News Network) does not. Therefore, freedom loving Americans are leaving them en masse. Nice try, Kurtz, nice try...

Its pretty bad when your views are too radical for Faux News! I cant believe this idiot has even one viewer who takes him seriously... unfortunately, there seem to be millions of idiots out there who hang on his every paranoid word. I, for one, cant wait for his 15 minutes of fame to end, the sooner, the better!

Glad to see him going off the air. He is an embarrassment to CNN and intelligent people worldwide. Still, sorry to hear he will continue his involvement television. Viewing his show has been proven to decrease knowledge on the topic but it did make people laugh.......at him.

PS. it's not the Tea party causing a Government shutdown. The Dems OWNED the white house, senate, and house, and didn't BOTHER to produce a 2011 budget. Don't even try to pin in on the Tea Party, CNN (Communist News Network)...

This is the best news I've heard in a while! Glenn Beck spreads hate, discord, and lies. He should be removed from television completely.

What will Jon Stewart do without Beck? Sometimes it seems as if Beck is doing most of the work for the writers on The Daily Show.

"Too radioactive for Fox" ... Now THAT'S sayin' somethin'.

The low-/no-information voters will no doubt follow like lemmings wherever he lands. Beck needs his own network – The Over-The-Top Channel ... brought to you by ED drugs and sell us your gold. Where you don't need to have any education in anything you talk about, and barely a high school diploma makes you a show host.

Not sorry to see this one go though after watching a show or two, I no longer watched him. Choice is personal and I'm sure he had many followers. I wish him luck and I believe his intentions are good and he is a good person.
