Beck ending show on Fox

(CNN) - Fox News Channel anchor Glenn Beck will end his daily show later this year to develop and produce a variety of television projects to air on the channel, according to a release Wednesday.

The new agreement between FNC and Mercury Radio Arts will ensure Beck appears on the television network and through other "digital properties."

"Glenn Beck is a powerful communicator, a creative entrepreneur and a true success by anybody's standards. I look forward to continuing to work with him," Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes said in a statement.

"Glenn Beck" launched in 2009. The host previously hosted a show on CNN's sister network HLN.

Howard Kurtz, Washington bureau chief for The Daily Beast and host of CNN's "Reliable Sources" said the split was a "divorce many months in the making."

"By the end, both sides wanted out," Kurtz said in an email. "Beck's show proved too radioactive for Fox, and the network became an uncomfortable home for Glenn Beck."

Glenn Beck is a bigger media whore than Palin. He just likes to hear himself talk. Sad thing is, his talk usually, well I guess never makes any sense. Hopefully his new ventures tank and we can quit seeing this moron in the media. It's just hard to fathom how some people become so delusional and still make it through the day. If he listened to himself he would be hiding deep in a cave with Bin Laden waiting for the world to end because of Obama.

So did Glenn Beck have too little integrity for even FOX News?

Beck. Let's see – His parents were divorced. His mother and brother both committed suicide. He is an admitted long term alcoholic and drug addict. He is divorced. He couldn't finish the only college course he ever took. He has never held a "real" job outside of radio/television personality. He has been fired numerous times for all kinds of reasons. He is disrespectful, divisive, and feeds off of bizarre conspiracy theories. He appears, and based on his personal history he very well may be, mentally unstable.

I can understand why the family values ultra-right wing religous types gravitate to this guy. Really make sense.

I quit watching FOX News entirely because of Beck's show. O'Reilly is bad enough, but Beck pushed FOX beyond the pale of reasonable journalism and turned their news-show into a joke. Although I was a FOX fan since Hannity and Colmes, I've returned to CNN now and find it much more informative in terms of actual reporting and commentary. It's sad, really, that FOX felt it needed to push itself that far right....right over the cliff for me and my family.

It feels this isn't a divorce – rather a departure from on-air host to more an executive – creative direction role. I think FOX is fully engrained into the themes Glenn Beck presents. Keep in mind people Beck is after the most money – he is a former disc Jockey and it is their nature to push the envelope for ratings. I'm not a fan of his in the least but you have to hand it to him the way he gained an audience....

Thank god. So now Fox News can move back into the headquarters of the RNC from the conservative section of the mental institution.

Can honestly say I've never watched Beck, nor ever had the inclination care about him, one way or the other. Though it has been fun reading comments from his many supporters. They are definitely all cut from the same cloth.

Can we just send Glenn Beck to Alaska to replace the worthless person that used to be there? Wake up...Beck is not a Republican...he's a capitalist...check out her earnings. For that much money anyone will say anything about anything...same as the fat blob Rush.
