(CNN) - Sarah Palin isn't the only member of the famous Alaska family that's raked in serious amounts of cash.
Daughter Bristol Palin made serious cash from the Candie's Foundation- a group that promotes abstinence to teenagers, according to a 2009 tax return from the group first posted by the blog Palingates and reported by several media organizations.
So what's the going rate for an abstinence promoter these days?
Apparently $262,000, according to the tax returns.
The younger Palin, then 18, was made an ambassador to the group in 2009 – months after giving birth to son Trip. She is no longer seeing Trip's father, Levi Johnston. Her work included giving speeches before teenagers, as well as appearing on television shows and in advertisements to raise awareness about the issue.
"I am so happy to have this opportunity to work with The Candie's Foundation on spreading the message of teen pregnancy prevention," Palin said when she was named to the position in May of 2009. "
"I feel that I could be a living example of the consequences of teen pregnancy. If I can prevent even one girl from getting pregnant, I will feel a sense of accomplishment."
Palingates is run by a group that calls themselves "The Sarah Palin Watchdog Team."

This whole family is laughing at America all the way to the bank. Im so glad CNN considers this a political topic. To her benefit, Bristol has none of the evil nature that her mother has. Ive never heard of her making venomous comments about anyone.
So the "consequences" of teen pregancy is to get a gig for 250 when you're barely legal to drink? As usual, the Palin name has nothing to do with anything remotely related to common sense and the use of language.
How can anyone even remotely think that she's a great spokesperson? Because her mom is "notorious" and has money? C'mon. I think a more realistic spokesperson would be a teenage mother, with no high school degree or GED, working two jobs, who's completely miserable because she's made an unwise choice.
Put the money away for college tuition. I envision your mother having some stiff legal fees in the coming years.
All young girls that find them selves in the same situation should be so lucky!!
I like this group. A bunch of sexually active teens who think that YOU should not be having sex. I guess they are worried other people will use it all up and there will be none left for them.... Party On!

That's a lot of money to make from a non-profit to tell everyone that your kid was a mistake. At least the kid will have college paid for..
Bristol should being paying Levi. Without his help, she would not been able to rip this organization off.
Her message won't get across when these young naive girls/women realize how much money she raked in. Already people want to be on television shows such as the one about teen mothers.
Do we really need Bristol to talk about abstinence and what makes her any different than any teenager that gets pregnant. This is break down on our society not giving teenagers from every whack of life that face the same problem become the spokes people of the issue. It is good to be daughter of a well known person we do not want to mention her name making a lot of money which I hope is giving some of it to the organizations that need it. Bristol is no different than any teenager that gets pregnant and I am against a celebrities daughter make a pitch on early teen pregnancy. How about teenagers that come from low income families be the spokes people and give them the air time to speak. Lets believe in equality.

Raised in a supposed "abstinance only" home and then rewarded with $260,000+ for being pregnant. Unbelievable. It's a shame Candies couldn't exert the effort to reward the millions of teen girls who actually don't get pregnant.
