Usually, lawmakers make some effort to pass a real, 365-day budget. Not this year.

If the Republicans say the U is broke, how can they give tax breaks to millionaires like themselves?

I'm going to go out on a limb here - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong - but didn't the GOPers propose to fillibuster (once again) anything that President Obama proposed BEFORE the 2010 election was held ... in an attempt to strengthen THEIR base of supporters. In which case, they failed miserably, as this is now on THEIR watch, and yet, they aren't even able to come to an agreement within their own Party, let alone with President Obama or the Democrats in Congress.

October, 2010 thru January 2011:
Democrats control the House, the Senate and the Whitehouse. They fail to pass a budget prior to the November election because they are afraid of the American people finding out they are spending $1.6 TRILLION MORE THAN THE GOVERNMENT COLLECTS IN TAXES, adding huge amounts to the national debt.
November 2010: American people vote record numbers of Democrats OUT OF OFFICE for their insane spending and healthcare debacle. The American people had enough of the Democrats
January-March, 2011: The Republicans try to get spending under control and cleanup the Democrats mess before the country has to declare bankruptcy
Beginning and end of story.
I thought the mess 1st started with the Repubs! Also, the Repubs goal is to make Obama fail from now to the election next year. If I was the Repubs they better remember what happen in 1995 and 1996 when they pulled this stunt in that election year, Clinton was given a 2nd term!
The dems refused to present and pass a budget before the 2010 elections where they had both houses. Their millstone.
