Washington (CNN) – Sarah Palin is getting more bad polling news: her unfavorable rating has reached an all time high in a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey.
According to the new poll released Wednesday, 53 percent of all Americans say they hold a negative or very negative view of the former Alaska governor while only 25 percent give Palin high marks.
That compares to the 50 percent unfavorable rating Palin registered in a similar NBC/Wall Street Journal poll last December and a 45 percent unfavorable rating the former vice presidential nominee garnered one year ago.
And less than 50 percent of Republicans polled have a favorable view of the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee for president, 25 percent say they have an unfavorable view. When in comes to those without allegiance to a political party, almost two in ten independents have a favorable view of Palin and more than half have an unfavorable opinion of her. Eight in ten Democrats do not have a favorable opinion of Palin.
The NBC/WSJ poll - which surveyed 1,000 Americans by telephone from March 31-April 4 and carries a 3 percentage point sampling error – is the latest in a string of polls showing Palin headed in the wrong direction as she contemplates a presidential bid.
According to a Gallup survey late last month, Palin's support among likely Republican primary voters continues to decline. That survey showed the Alaska Republican drawing 12 percent of support from Republicans and Republican-leaning independents – a 4 percent decline from a similar survey conducted one earlier.
Those results were also similar to a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll last month showing Palin had fallen 7 points between January and March, from 19 percent to 12 percent.

I would have preferred she run and be beaten at the primary polls. That would have been the end of her politically and diminished her celebrity. If she sits '12 out, as looks increasingly likely, she'll be able to say "told you so" when the Republican nominee loses to Obama. She's young enough to run in '16 in an open field. Palin's entire appeal is based on her potential to run for president and her financial goal at this point is to sustain that however possible.
No wonder the people in Alaska did not complain when she resign. They had a head start on the rest of the nation when it came to figuring out that she could not figure anything out.
Let's see quit your job as governor, go on the speaking tour, have a failed reality show, and become captain critic from twitter/faceboook account. Yeap, those moves really convince people of your dedication to public service.
She is being "outshrilled" by the new Mama Grizzly, the loony Bachmann and "outbirthed" by Mr Combover. Maybe she should start whining more about the lamestream, liberal biased media. You know her "I'm done" statement was a joke as she was back to her old tricks last week. In any case, she'll be on the road somewhere (NOT at home watching her family) making more outrageous claims, just to get her name back in the news not related to her sinking popularity
I do think at one time Mrs. Palin was interested in making a run for the WH, but it appears now she has more fun being an "attack dog" for FoxNews and her fans. After all she can be critical of the POTUS, his wife, the Democrats and of course the "evil left wing media" and she can do all this from the protection of FaceBook, Twitter and FoxNews. She really doesn't have to face the ones she BLAST on a regular basis. Notice she never seems to go after the Republicans like Karl Rove who are not afraid to challenge her. Only CNN for some reason keeps giving this woman attention, the rest of the media world has moved on........to Donald Trump!
