Palin calls Obama actions 'appalling'

Washington (CNN) - Calling President Obama's handling of the budget showdown "appalling," Sarah Palin is adding her voice to GOP clamor that he is playing politics with the U.S. military in an effort to get his way on spending.

In a posting on Facebook Friday, Palin blasts Obama for his refusal to sign a Republican-backed bill that aimed to cut spending by $12 billion and fund the Pentagon for the remainder of the current fiscal year.

The president and Democrats opposed the measure because of the programs it would cut, including a provision that would prevent Washington, DC taxpayer money to be used to fund abortion providers.

But Palin charges the president's real concern is about funding such organizations as National Public Radio.

"Essentially, he's holding military funding hostage to NPR funding. This is a perfect analogy for what is wrong with this entire budget showdown," writes Palin. "Our federal government has strayed so far from what is constitutionally mandated that they are blind to the fact that NPR funding is not a constitutional duty. Funding our military at a time of war is!"

"It's about time the President step up to the plate and lead responsibly. Our troops who are putting themselves in harm's way deserve a Commander in Chief who is not AWOL from the debt debate," Palin continues. "The American people deserve a president who will take on the tough challenges and understand that funding 'Car Talk' is not as crucial as funding our troops at a time of three wars."

Palin needs to get her head out of her arse! Both sides, repubs and dems alike are equally responsible for this mess. They just need to shut up-grow up and get on with it. How many of them are willing to give up their paycheck if the government shuts dopwn?

This coming from a Tea Party backer that say SHUT IT DOWN? Come on Sarah "Man Up". Sounds like she is all talk. However, both she and her daughter get paid a lot of money for just talk. Maybe her daughter should have visited Planned Parenthood prior to her pregnancy. Just one more reason why we need to fund Plan Parenthood. Prevent teenage pregnancies.

Hello Sarah! can't you forget politics!!. Very few value you as "one of the valuable/reliable leader"! Don't you or Todd read the polls. Go home, take care of your kids and let those who are serious in politics play their part!

CNN when will you stop giving this ex-Governor a platform? WHEN? I realize it is a business decision because it gets eyeballs on your page. But seriously, what is she now? A one track redundant and irrelevant scold, a fast fading ex wannabe presidential pretender. All you do by posting her various verbal diarrhea spillages is to perpetuate her sense of self-aggrandizement. The woman needs help, not enabling.

As always, the hypocrisy of the Republican/Tea Party and especially Sarah Pailin is proven once again. Sarah makes no mention of the politics of the Republican stop gap spending bill and its tie to the elimination of funding for abortion. If the Republicans did not want to play politics with the military spending, why did they tie it to this issue? Oh, I forgot, if it is an issue important to the Tea Party, then the process and method is justified. The process is only questioned, when it does not support their cause.

Continuing the lies which is what she does best; "The president and Democrats opposed the measure because of the programs it would cut, including a provision that would prevent Washington, DC taxpayer money to be used to fund abortion providers." This is factually false and complete Republican BS rhetoric. Federal funding to Planned Parenthood specifically excludes the use of those funds for abortion. Palin and Gingrich are some of the worst example of Americans this country has ever had in the media spotlight.

What is't about time for is Palin and the GOP (and their corporate masters, the Koch brothers and News Corp) to come clean with the American people about the fact that:

    1. their goal is to silence objective news reporting that calls them out for the jerks they are (NPR)

    2. what they're targeting for budget cuts directly affect the most vulnerable in our society (WIC, Planned Parenthood, HeadStart, Medicare and Medicaid)

Palin and the Tea Party proponents are going nuts lying about this possible shut-down. Let's put blame exactly where it belongs: On the Republicans for actually wanting a shut-down. If they hadn't insisted on wanting to change Medicare and Medicaid and adding a ton of social, non-monetary issues (Planned Parenthood cuts, NPR, etc.) being added to the budget bill, it would have already passed.

So Palin says that...gotcha. If it were a Democrat they would be saying that the Republicans are holding back the military budget so they can shove their views about abortion down the country's throats.

Both sides are full of it...just get it done.

Once again, she complains without offering an alternative solution. Keep it up, Sarah. People more and more people are taking notice of your whining lacking of substance. Oh, and thanks for making up a new word: squirmish. Is that what worms do when they fight?

You have it backwards Sarah, the GOP is playing politics with the military to get THEIR way on spending. This is the same strategy they have been doing since they were elected... for example, the GOP vowed to block every bill passing through the house until the rich got their tax cuts.

Talk about straying, Palin is the poster child for abuse of free speech, libel, slander, etc. Obama should give an executive order to have her locked up permanently.

Let's try this. Let's make mine the only post. And let's all quit saying anything about Palin. Mayben then CNN will cease ramming this woman down our throats. She is irrelevant, but no one has told her yet. And her uber ignorance is a national disgrace. Let's "just say no" to Sarah Palin once and for all.

How dare he (the Prez) not do as he's told by his betters! I'm getting tired of being told that 'all Americans' are against abortions!
I was born in the USA but according to the GOP I'm not a American?

Where the sun does not shine failin Palin – you are a loser, and the polls are showing that you are as irrelevent today
    as ever.

What do you know about a budget? Someone other than yourself must surely count your change that you have received
because you could not handle the responsibilities as a full-term governor, and need to expose your true greedy,
    capitalist self.

Congrats President Obama – you are the only one who is handling the budget with respect and foresight!

Once Again Saran Palin don't know what she taking about, because If the Republican really wanted to pass a Bill that would pay are troop they wouldn't have all the other Condition to It. The Bill should only have say it would fund money for the troop only and NOT have other Condition to It. So really It the Republican holding the troop as hostage or they wouldn't have put other Condition to It. It should be to pay the American Troop ,Not Want the Republican what. Saran Palin you need to just blow away and shut up because your rating are going down , and every time you open your mouth your rating down more.

What is appalling is that the Republicans are supporting GE who made $14 Billion in profit last year and paid ZERO taxes over millions of hard-working middle classes Americans. If the Republicans are serious about the deficit they would cut out CORPORATE WELFARE AND TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH. But, they are not and only know how to deflect the fact they are beholden to BIG BUSINESS.
