Palin gives Trump some verbal support on birther issue

(CNN) - Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin supported Donald Trump's decision to hire investigators to examine President Barack Obama's birth, but stopped short of embracing the birther wave.

"I appreciate that the Donald wants to spend his resources in getting to the bottom of something that so interests him and many Americans. You know, more power to him," Palin said Saturday on Fox News. "He's not just throwing stones from the sidelines, he's digging in, he's paying for researchers."

Trump's media rampage over the president's birthplace continued Sunday in an appearance on CNN's "State of the Union," where he once again implored the president to produce his birth certificate. Thursday on NBC, the real estate mogul said he sent a team of investigators to Hawaii.

In 2008, the Obama campaign released a copy of the certificate, saying the serial number was blacked out for concern over Hawaiian procedure. Since then, many news organizations and the Annenberg Fact Check Project saw the original with the serial number, an embossed seal and a stamped signature.

But when asked about her views on the issue, Palin said she thinks the president was born in Hawaii.

"Well, you know, I think that he was born in Hawaii because there was a birth announcement put in the newspaper," Palin said. "But obviously if there's something there that the president doesn't want people to see on that birth certificate that he's going to great lengths to make sure it isn't shown. And that's kind of perplexing for a lot of people."

Sarah Palin finds the birther non-issue perplexing? I think she finds tying her shoelaces perplexing.

I think Palin and Trump are like, " Two peas in a pod." They like to talk, but they're not that intelligent. I would not trust them if my life depended on it. My support will always go to our great president. You keep on fighting Obama, and may the republicans crash and burn in 2012.

Hmm...it's now 2011 and I have been waiting since the summer of 2008 to hear the Republicans give answers to fixing the economy. They had no answers in 2008 and guess what..they still dont. All they seem to be able to do is focus on Obama while Obama foucses on the country. All they know is they want him out....does not matter if they have a plan or not.

Why is this a surprise, CNN? With Palin, anything and everything is fair game as long as it keeps her name and two faces in the news.

Poor Sarah wasn't getting enough attention, and it was making her even more crazy, so she had to jump on the birther bandwagon. It was so predicitable.

    ahhh....the kiss of death....

....personally I'd trust someone not born here who has good credit rather than a bum who inherited his billions and has had numerous bankruptcies...just saying...

This is the same BS approach every GOP "leader" is using. They say "I think it's great that this issue is being pursued. It is their right to pursue it and I'm not going to tell people what to think.....but I think he was born in the US." So, they still can try for the birther vote and, they hope, they won't lose the thinking voter's vote. Cowardly tactic.

I think Palin resents the fact that Trump is nuttier than even she is, so she has to join him in nutville.

I USED to vote Republican, not any longer. They are too extreme now, always trying hide the issues with things like this birther stuff. Then there is the dictator Scott Walker in Wisconsin. Obama needs to be a better leader.

Karl Rove taught the Republicans how to mess with people by telling lies and the Republicans are still following his lessons. I hope many Americans wake up soon and realize that the Republican party does not care one bit about the people because they are in corporate America's pocket.

She thinks he was born in the USA just because it was announced in the newspaper? Every time this woman opens her mouth she displays her ignorance about yet another aspect of government. She is so unqualified it's pathetic.

The certification that the campaign received back —which shows that Obama was born in Honolulu at 7:24 p.m. on Aug. 4, 1961 — was based on the content of the original document in state files, Fukino said. T look at the birth certificate go to the article and it hyperlinks to the birth certificate that is availble for the public to see.

"What he got, everybody got," said Fukino. "He put out exactly what everybody gets when they ask for a birth certificate."

What kills them is that despite all their nonsense Obama is still doing very very very well wit h a smile on his face.
Palin can't even handle simple questions about hr past without getting testy. or answer simple, basic questions.

Give it up, CNN. Let a qualified news source cover the idiots. Say, some organization like the National Enquirer.

Trump and Palin: Dumb and Dumber.

He is ahead of her in the polls. She is trying to appeal to the same whack jobs who are supporting him. She is a leech on anyone who is getting more attention than she is. I am afraid she is becoming obscure, but I think she is way more afraid of that than I am. What goes around, comes around and her time is up.

If Obama can't produce a Birth Certificate according to the US Constitution, he can't be President. I hope Donald has his legal team file suit, take it to the Supreme Court, where Obama will be sent Packing! Oh, and Max, It doesn't matter a hill of beans that his mother is American. Obama has to be BORN in America!

You know, Obama could end all this nonsense by simply producing the complete birth certificate.

Trump should pay back all the people he screwed with his bankruptcies before wasting any money in Hawaii on a conspiracy theory that hase been de bunked hundreds of times already. I am glad Palin supports Trump because they are both bottom feeders and they belong together

From what I just read, it doesn't appear to me that Miss Palin is supporting the Donald. As a matter of fact, she appears to be taunting him..
She says she believes President Obama was born in Hawaii , but if Donald wants to spend his resources, more power to him..

Gosh- how stupid is Palin, she should really go back to the sticks and go hunt and raise her kids because that is the way she wants America to be, women at home with no power and the man to go and make a living. She takes all smarts away from what woman have gained in last 60 years. She and her tea-party gals need to get educated and stop talking out of their home cooking mouths. Everytime she opens up, it is like she never read a book – which she doesn't.
