Washington (CNN) – President Barack Obama's sister thinks the birther movement is "unfortunate."
"I think it's unfortunate. He was born in Hawaii, there is a tremendous amount of proof that has already been presented," Maya Soetoro-Ng told CNN's Piers Morgan in an interview scheduled to air Tuesday. "I think that it is time for people to put that to bed, put it to rest completely."
And what about real estate mogul Donald Trump's repeated calls for the president to produce his birth certificate?
"Well, I think it's a shame and I think that my brother should definitely be president for a second term," Soetoro-Ng said. "And that's really all I have to say about it."
Trump, star of "Celebrity Apprentice," has made a second career out of questioning the president's birthplace, most recently on CNN's "State of the Union."
In 2008, the Obama campaign released a copy of the certificate, saying the serial number was blacked out for concern over Hawaiian procedure. Since then, many news organizations and the Annenberg Fact Check Project saw the original with the serial number, an embossed seal and a stamped signature.
The comments from Obama's half sister followed similar remarks by his aunt Saturday.
In an interview with CNN affiliate WHDH Zeituni Onyango said Trump is "lying."
"He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii," Onyango said. "A naked lie in the name of the Lord."
"I respect his wealth, but I only demand him to respect us," Onyango added. "And I challenge him. Let him call me and we'll talk."

Birthers will not believe the president was born in the United States, but will believe there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. They are beyond help.
If Obama wasn't born in the USA his enemies do such a poor job of proving it why would anyone support them? You can't prove Obama was born in Kenya, you can't win 1 court case, you can't produce a Kenyan cert, you can't show his Mom ever went to Kenya but you want to run the country? LOL

Lat's just stop the nonsense. A certificate of Live Birth is not the same as the original birth certificate. Hawaii may accept it, but it isn't the same. This can easily be solved just by producing the original certificate. Enough of the games on both sides. Just release it!!
Reality! Reality, the truth and more understandable, common sense is what it is all about. As long as there are those spouting off the extremes and there are those people who shout emotional support for them, then things will continue to be absurd with no progress and all of the stupid antics continuing.... or even worse, as we have seen, some bazaar individuals and policies being successful. When the people get their head screwed on straight, and stop demanding/supporting unworkable and detrimental extremes, then the politicians will come around and have to cooperate (without the people's support to do otherwise) to achieve responsible centrist solutions.
The majority of AMERICANS voted for Obama. Deal with it. The majority of people believe he IS a natural born citizen so get over it. I dont understand these birther folks lack of respect for the highest office in the country and their inability to deal with reality. I also dont understand how they must have soo much spare time and energy as to even worry about this 'non-issue'.
I dont care if our President were Jewish, Catholic OR Muslim... or whetehr he was born n Hawaii, Panama or Alaska.. as long as he displayed an ounce of intelligence and the ability to help solve Americas problems. But then again, Im a reasonable, open minded individual... so i guess what im saying doesnt count around these comment boards...
The funny thing is even if Obama was born in Kenya the law can consider him a "natural born" citizen since he was American by birthright. The Supreme Court would have to clearly define a term and its application that never has been and even if they did they can't apply it to the past only the future. Birthers are pointless even if they were correct on a wild conspiracy that lacks proof.
The saddest thing of all is how many truly & purposefully ignorant people there are in this country. The fact that Obama HAS produced a birth certificate, that there is ample corroborating evidence to support his birth in Hawaii, that there are MANY people who remember him does not stop a one of them from purposefully believing lies that play into their bigotry. That's at the root of it all. How pitiful. How hateful. How truly, truly sad. I'll pray for you all & especially for the rest of us have to endure your idiocy. You're an embarrassment to our great nation. Shame on you all & may God have mercy on your souls.
It's amazing how many people are coming out of the wood works to try to defend obama. But they never have the documents to back up their statements. His sister and the liberal media are covering for him. The man is a fraud plain and simple. Obama law firm paying off everybody they know to keep his documents from being released. One thing about it states are taking action though. He either presents a LONG FORM to the states or his name don't go on the ballot for the 2012 election. This will end one way or another when 2012 elections roll around.
This whole issue is so crazy. Obviously, nothing Obama shows will be good enough. Now people are making up a certificate for his sister? Trump is just playing you guys, just like he scammed Gadhafi, and is probably gloating about it in private... the greatest scam in history... or at least in this current television season.

Oh, and I am from California and I have a "Certificat of Live Birth", just like the President and so do my children. My wife is from Hawaii and she has one just like the President, too. I have never even heard of a "long-form" birth certificate. Thanks for the entertainment, though. You birthers are a collective joke.

This whole birther issue could be put to rest if somebody were to produce a valid birth certificate that proves Obama was born outside of the USA. Since nobody can do this then (duh) it must be true that Obama was born in the good ol US of A.
Google Nordyke twins to see what an official Hawaii birth certificate looked like for people born the day after Obama in 1961.
I'm not a fan of the birthers, they come across as windbags. But the two relatives provided no proof. How about a baby picture, a newspaper clipping, birth certificate...."something."

If if these birther accusations were true, and they aren't, the birthers would be despicable for trying to destroy a person on the basis of the most minor of technicalities that Obama couldn't control. I didn't hear these birthers venting their righteous anger against McCain who actually was NOT born in the U.S.
If I were Obamas, I'll show the Birth Certificate and call its over. Show the birth certificate to silense Trump. That's all there is.

Actually, if I was Obama I would only show that certificate, as he already has, to those officials who needed to see it to qualify him for the election. All you people demanding to see President Obamas bitrth certificate – show me where you are demanding to see proof of any and all previous birth certificates regarding former Presidents of the USA. Show me any evidence you demand the same proof from all your current or past presidential candidates.

All Obama has to do is provide a LEGAL birth certificate, not a copy of one that is not even valid enough to get a drivers license. Obama has had over 2 years to put this to rest and has done nothing but spend a lot of money keeping this a secret. Obama can stop this but chooses not to, it's sad our country doesn't expect more from our "leader."
