Trump takes aim at Bill Cosby

Washington (CNN) – Business mogul Donald Trump is aiming his latest war of words against Bill Cosby, saying the famous comedian is "incoherent" and "dishonest"

Trump's outburst – which came in a written statement Monday – followed comments last week by Cosby during an appearance on NBC's Today Show, during which he declared Trump either needs to run for president now or "shut up."

"I was surprised to hear him blabber, somewhat incoherently 'you run or shut up,'" Trump said in the statement. "The hatred was pouring out of his eyes when he said this. As I am sure he must know I cannot run until this season of Celebrity Apprentice ends."

Trump added Cosby had been friendly to him during a previous encounter backstage at The Late Show with David Lettermen, having then offered to buy the reality television star a suit.

"I wish he would be more honest, and if he doesn't want me to run because he's obviously an Obama fan, he should state the reasons and not come into my "green room" in front of numerous witnesses and treat me like his best friend, only to denigrate me when I'm not around," Trump said in the statement.

Trump your just a male figure of sara palin. stop being a cheer leader. You know that you don't have a chance of being considered to run for the president seat. Instead of worrying about a birth place. How will you tackle the deficit? Don't wait until you get nominated to talk about it. But then again that's not going to happen no ones voting for you. They said if you lead and no ones following you then your not a leader. Donald do you have any followers?

You have it backwards CNN, as usual. Bill Cosby had an outburst and Trump is responding. Why do you find the need to show your bias so much lately against anything Republican?

Not a big fan of either man. BUT, Cosby is right. Stop all the birther BS Mr. Trump. Either run or don't. This "issue" has been proved to be a non issue. So stop the posturing and double talk Mr. Trump. Since when has a decision to take on the most important job in this great nation, superceded by what transpires on a second rate reality show? Put your resume and ideas up infront of the American people. If they (the american people) deem you to be worthy and judged competent for the job of President, then they will hire you. If not they wont! As a NYC cop says at a crime scene "there's nothing more to see here people, move on"

Mr. Trump, just in case you didn't notice, you fired the first shots.

All Mr. Cosby was saying was "put up or shut up". That means you are free to publicly express your personal views as a candidate. If you are not a candidate, then you need to keep your opinions to yourself. Please do not criticize Mr. Cosby for expressing his views just as freely as you have expressed yours, Mr. Trump. Not unless you feel that your views are the only ones that matter. Your way, or the highway. Is that it? This is a very good way to run a company, but not a democracy.

Thump is a moron, he could be your best friend and those words could still be said, he is just saying you should stop flapping your gums or step up to the plate.

Why is he obviously an Obama fan Donald? What points you in that direction? Hmmm?

Trump had better pick his battles more carefully. Bill Cosby is much more respected than he is. Every time Trump opens his mouth, he sounds even more crazy.

If Trump is going to respond to everyone who thinks that he is an idiot then he is going to have to hire someone else to campaign for him because he is going to be reacting and responding 24/7! Is it some corollary that the people with the biggest egos also have the thinest skins. Wow, imagine if he had to put up with what President Obama has to put up with every day!

well to be honest with you I liked Donald Trump too, UNTIL he came out with all this nonsense. I have no problem with anyone challenging the president for 2012 that is what we are supposed to do but don't come up with outright lies and stupids stuff that has already been proven to be false to build your case on. I think Cosby feels the same way many others do. Trump right now is a fine one to ask somebody to be honest. Obama's step-grandmother NEVER said he was born in Kenya..Trump needs to listen to the whole tape before making such an accusation just because it goes well with the birther crowd.

There is nothing hateful about saying run or shut up. What's hateful, if not bigoted, is for Trump to assume Crosby supports Obama just because they are both black. Trumps a bully and is attempting to make people afraid to speak out against him which is against freedom of speech.

There is something that eludes Trump in all of this: he needs to ACT presidential in order to be taken seriously. He can't go around arguing with every single person who criticizes him: if he gets the job, he'll discover most of the time he will be criticized. Bill Cosby does not work for him, and can say whatever he wants. If he becomes POTUS, Trump will work for us, not the other way around, and he seems to not quite be able to wrap his head around that idea. As far as hatred "pouring out of his eyes", Trump has Cosby beat by a mile. He cannot go a single day without some incoherent statement rocketing out of his mouth like an unguided missile. Donald Trump, the new IED. He's very improvised, very explosive, without a real care for the people around him and the country that allowed him to build his slumlord-based fortune. Must be nice to run for office on a fortune built on evictions.

Awww, Bill Cosby hurt the Donalds feelings. Trump cannot run until the season of Celebrity Apprentice ends? Suppose he becomes president, will he come upo with other lame excuses for not doing something? Trump needs to quit feeding his ego, shut up, and go back to doing whatever it is that he does. Other than file for bankruptcy and spend outrageous sums of money.

Presidential aspirations have shown America a dark side of Trump. Anyone who criticizes him [ Gail Collins, Cosby] gets a furious and prompt reply from He Who Must Be King.
It is going to be interesting to watch his testy replies as obviously he cannot contain himself. And he is not being show the deference he gets [ Mr Trump] in the Boardroom.

Bill Cosby – A real comedian.
Donald Trump – A lame excuse of one, trying to do anything to get more votes IF he really runs.

I'm with Trump. I would definitely vote for him if he runs. Hillary Clinton would be my first choice as she was in 2008.

If Trump is serious about a presidential run, he really should stop the birther remarks and not get into entanglements like he has with Crosby. It just makes his credibility look real bad. He should be focusing his statements on what he would seriously consider and do as a president. If he does not do this, then he can be taken as someone not truly considering a presidential bid and is really just "toying" with the idea. He seems to be torpedoing onto the same path Paladino did when running for NYS governor. Paladino initially said some remarks that were attractive as a candidate and peole really stopped to take a second look at him. Then he got himself looking ridiculous with a ton of outlandish remarks and he sunk himself good. Trump, if he is not careful, will wind up the same way, if he is truly and seriously considering a presidential bid.

Mr. Trump, How sour are those Grapes? Not used to people speaking out against you, are you? Everyone is NOT impressed with your banter, Sir.
Everyone doesn't feel the need to cater to your "crocks of Bull"!!!!!

A very long time ago, I sent a letter to the Editor in Gulfport, Ms. It was in reference to your "unacceptable to me" statements on Mike Tyson. You sided with him, after he was cited for his abuse of his Mate. It was printed and I have it to this day.
Don't need a reminder of your ignorance...all I have to do is listen to the News. They discuss it(your ignorance) everyday.!!!!!
I didn't appreciate you or your attitude then, and damn sure, at 65, don't appreciate it now. This World needs less of your Racism, Attitude, Arrogance and over-all "smugness". We need Peace on Earth, Mr. Trump, not your hatred!
I shutter to think that any of my Grandchildren would watch any of your shows, much less listen to anything you are saying.
Give the World a break, will you, and keep that arrogant mouth of yours shut?

"As I am sure he must know I cannot run until this season of Celebrity Apprentice ends."?

Hogwash- if Trump is serious about running, he can quit the series immediately (a la Palin) and start a committee. Seems like he wants the best of both.
