Trump takes aim at Bill Cosby

Washington (CNN) – Business mogul Donald Trump is aiming his latest war of words against Bill Cosby, saying the famous comedian is "incoherent" and "dishonest"

Trump's outburst – which came in a written statement Monday – followed comments last week by Cosby during an appearance on NBC's Today Show, during which he declared Trump either needs to run for president now or "shut up."

"I was surprised to hear him blabber, somewhat incoherently 'you run or shut up,'" Trump said in the statement. "The hatred was pouring out of his eyes when he said this. As I am sure he must know I cannot run until this season of Celebrity Apprentice ends."

Trump added Cosby had been friendly to him during a previous encounter backstage at The Late Show with David Lettermen, having then offered to buy the reality television star a suit.

"I wish he would be more honest, and if he doesn't want me to run because he's obviously an Obama fan, he should state the reasons and not come into my "green room" in front of numerous witnesses and treat me like his best friend, only to denigrate me when I'm not around," Trump said in the statement.

Looks like Trump is trying to pick up the southern vote with his birther attack on the president and his "lack of intelligence" assault on Cosby..........and then trying to swing the independent vote with his moderation on foreign invasions......may be a good strategy, but for me a very, dishonest, selfish person....I like to be proud of my president and how could someone ever be proud to have Donald Trump as president?....I don't believe that we have fallen that far.

Donald Trump has clearly lost whatever was left of his mind. Bill Cosby has a doctorate in education, he wasn't rambling. He was saying that Trump is to announce a run because its been done before by other TV stars. Trump is nuts.

I see, Donald, but it's perfectly fine for you to "denigrate" Obama when he's not around, right? Shut Up, you clown

I'm certainly not a medical person, but this guy is losing it. I don't know, but it seems like he has gone way beyond
his usual self-promoting arrogance, and appears to be heading toward a nervous breakdown. Like I said,
being Beck's replacement on Fox cannot be easy, but he is fitting into the roll very well. He can't take criticism,
he is a birther (where's the proof from his "investigators"), he is a self-admitted tea partier, he is a Republican, no
wait, he is an Independent. It's just all very strange.

Oh, good, just what we need: another overly sensitive crybaby running for president. If he gets this offended about Cosby saying that, just imagine how he'll react when the real attacks start coming. National politics is a tough scene, and you need to have thicker skin than this.

maybe at that time he didn't know how mean spirited you he knows. And he didn't do it behind your back, millions heard it and so did you. Don't be a cry baby!!!!!!!!!

This is wonderful entertainment. Its going to be great fun to watch Mr. Trump destroy himself, piece by piece, by making offensive, stupid, and ego-centric comments like this, alienating one constituency after another, until he's left with only dumb white people, and affluent white men who don't think he's a buffoon.

Wow. Trump has some really thin skin. Nothing that Cosby said was mean. It was honest... and it applies to all of the wannabes that do the Presidential dance but refuse to make it "official". Trump, above all others, should know the phrase, "Put up of shut up!" For Trump to go through the motions and say such dribble is nonsense. IF Trump has already finished production of The Apprentice and has already been paid for his services., NBC should be able to cut their formal ties with him while still being able to run that which they have already paid for. They could even re-edit and simply block out his face and disguise his voice and it wouldn't make the show any worse... lets face it. He gets only about 5 minutes of actual airtime anyway. His kids get more time than he does. So lay off Cosby... he at least thinks before he speaks.

Trump is too thin skinned to run for president, he would spend all his time putting down any and all who disagree with him . He would make an awful president! He thinks his opinions are the only right ones , and puts himself before others. Not a good formula for anyone but a disaster for a public servant....just the name servant would put a crimp in his craw!

Mr. Crosby was far from blabbering, I saw the interview, he was trying to bite his tongue and stay measured in his words, something a gentleman does Donald. Mr. Crosby was stating the facts, run on a platform or shut your pie hole. Now you want to run as an Independent, I thought you were the new Republican poster boy, the one who had Pesident Obama shaking. What happened did the Republican big money boys give you the boot? Poor baby, first the Bath and Tennis crowd shuns you now the Republicans don't want you.

Trump will make a 'Wonderful" president. Already starting problems and blabbing his mouth about people. He has a loooong road ahead with people who will be talking about him and questioning his motives. He had better get used to it and learn to keep his mouth closed. And by the way, he COULD declare his candidacy now, he just doesn't want to hurt his ratings and chances with the network that runs his show...I guess that shows us just where his priorities stand. Looks like stepping up to public service comes second to tv fame.

Mr. Cosby has a valid point Mr. Trump. Either put up or shut up and have a coke and a smile. There should be no problem with your stating that you will in fact run after the season for your show wraps up, or is it just all about free publicity?

Bill Cosby was absolutely right...not only in what he said, but the total disdain he displayed for trump...trump is a blowhard, an elitist wanna-be, a dispicable example for young and old alike, and outrageous as a potential leader of this country. The man is immoral and ammoral, a cunning and ruthless businessman, and a clown-like figure on any TV program he slithers to. Come on, America...see him for the charlatan (fraud) that he is...he, along with any repub/t-bag contender for the highest office in our land, would be an absolute disaster!! He has said that he would spend $600 million to be president, so let's send him a message that the Presidency of the United States IS NOT FOR SALE!

Trump is another Palin.....if you say anything about him (just like Palin) he has to come back wtih hateful remarks ......Can't you just see if other world leaders say something bad about him and he is President......just like Palin they both would have us in another World War.....Trump better grow some thick skin or some Balls if he wants to run for President because he is going to have a lot more said about him that I am sure he will not like.....and he will be so busy trashing the people that say these things about him that he won't give anytime to running on the real issues facing this country.

Boy, Trumps bullying wind-bag schtick gets old quick. I've heard enough from him to last a lifetime.

I have more respect for Mr. Cosby than I could ever have for the bloviator Trump. Another big talking silver spooner that inheritied his riches instead of creating them himself.

Donald Trump and Palin have a lot in common. Forst, no common sense is forefront because not everyone iso out to get them or destroy them. See, just because someone says "someone should run or shut up" is not a attack but a comment stating a fact. If the Trumpster believes he should be a serious candidate for the office of the prez, state it and declare that you will run after the show is over taping. Thats not hard to do, playing coy and hidding behind a show is weak and proves that the trumpster is still not serious, yet. Donnie can come out and say that after this season is over, he will run, case settled. So like Palin, anyone that says anything about both of them thats not blowing smoke up their *S* has an agenda of destruction against them. This shows a sign mental issues and are incapable of taking constructive criticism. Trumpster and Palin should both stop playing hapless victims because they are not hapless just victims of destructive ego paranoia.

Trump is delusional. Bill Crosby is a Republican or at least a conservative and he was right. Trump needs to stop running his mouth and run if he's going to run.

For the last few years, Bill Cosby appears to have deteriorated. I saw him a few times on late night TV trying once to do stand up and several times trying to be "funny" from his seat alongside the host. It was actually sad to hear him stammer, grope for lines and slough over words, not quite making sense at times and anxiously waiting for the host to bail him out by laughing at what obviously was not funny or incomplete, as in no punchline. It's tough to watch an iconic figure and once phenomenal comedian stumble and falter like that. I hope he's okay.

God – if this is going to be the thin-skinned whining we're going to be hearing from Trump, please spare me the pain of the full election season. Can you imagine him lamenting the poor treatment he'll be receiving regarding his failed marriages, his failed businesses, his failed football league, his failed hair style! 🙂 He is the male version of Sarah Palin. Spare us this pain!
