Washington (CNN) – Proving once again that Donald Trump knows a bit about publicity, the business man and real estate mogul will make an announcement on the season finale of "Celebrity Apprentice" about his intentions on running for the White House.
On the final episode of the popular TV reality show, Trump "plans to give an announcement date" for his decision on whether he'll make a formal bid for the Republican presidential nomination, senior Trump adviser Michael Cohen confirms to CNN.
The season finale of "Celebrity Apprentice" airs May 22. In numerous interviews with CNN and other organizations, Trump has said he'll make a decision on a White House bid by June.
Trump is now tied with former Arkansas Gov. and 2008 GOP White House hopeful Mike Huckabee for first place when Republicans are asked who they support for the GOP presidential nomination in 2012, according to a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation national poll that was released Tuesday. But while the survey indicates Trump has nearly doubled his support since a mid-March poll, it also indicates that more than four in ten Republicans say they would not like to see Trump toss his hat in the ring.
Trump has said he could spend hundreds of millions of dollars of his own money on a campaign for the presidency. Earlier this week he also told the Wall Street Journal that he might also make an independent run for the White House if he doesn't capture the GOP nomination.
This weekend, Trump makes his first political trip since he started talking of a possible run earlier this year, going to Florida to address a tea party Tax Day rally in Boca Raton Saturday. In June, Trump's scheduled to headline an Iowa GOP dinner and also make an appearance in New Hampshire. Those two states kick off the presidential primary and caucus calendar.
Trump has made numerous appearances on the cable news networks and other outlets the past two months, as he's increased his discussions of running for the White House, and has he's increased his attacks on President Barack Obama's performance in office.
He has also increasingly questioned whether the president was born in the U.S. and asks why Obama doesn't produce his birth certificate. In 2008, the Obama presidential campaign released a copy of the certificate, saying the serial number was blacked out for concern over Hawaiian procedure. Since then, many news organizations and the Annenberg Fact Check Project saw the original with the serial number, an embossed seal and a stamped signature.
In other words, stayed tuned – NOT! The ratings for CA have gone down since the D started spouting....
Trump needs to run for President. He has taken enough money from the government to make himself rich. If not why does he has some of his LOBBYIST in DC working on his behalf. I never heard him being described as a self-made man. Obama has Bo as the White House pet while Trump will have Chester that chimpmunk on his head as the White House Pet. Sit Chester Sit, Arp, Arp.Good boy.
OH Boy, that's what we need. Someone who plays games with the country. I think we had that for 8 years under Bush. Talk about hemming and hawing about a decision. If this is any indication of how he would govern, we are in for a wild ride if the totally unbelievalbe happened.......Trump being President. Just saying that makes me laugh.
So Trump's announced that he will announce a date when he will announce his final, definitive announcement? Bill Cosby was right about this guy. It takes a comedian to know a comedian, and Cosby is smarter than most. Like Pat Paulson, Trump is working the media to prove that they are even bigger boobs than he is. And I just won't say anything about the "normal" people who take his supposed candidacy seriously. Clearly they weren't around in New York in the 1980's.
This guy is a bunch of hot air, to be a nominee for the Repugblican party all you is to show your true hatred and bigotry for our President Barrack Obama.
