Washington (CNN) – It shouldn't be any surprise that two of the three states President Barack Obama visits next week are battleground states.

According to a White House release Friday, the president will travel to northern Virginia Tuesday to hold a town hall. Obama won the state in 2008, the first Democrat to carry Virginia in a presidential election since 1964. With an open Senate seat to defend as well, Virginia is a crucial state for Democrats in 2012.

The president also holds a town hall in Reno, Nevada on Thursday. Obama carried that state as well in 2008, the first Democrat to capture Nevada since Bill Clinton won it in 1996. Like Virginia, there's a crucial contest for the Senate as well, but in this case it's an open seat that is currently held by the GOP.

In between the two events, the president also holds a town hall Wednesday at Facebook Headquarters in Palo Alto, California. California is safe and lucrative politically for Obama. He will also be the main attraction at fund raisers in San Francisco and Los Angeles for his re-election campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

No please vote for the GOP and let your country go to dogs. all you people are so vulnerable and get bullied by the GOP you cannot see how slowly they are getting rid of you. If the GOP wins there will only be the rich people and they will own the poor and middle class if you know what i mean. The DEMOCRATES CARE FOR YOU.

You're right, it shouldn't be a surprise. He's always campaigning and demagoging. He's never actually doing the work he was elected to do. It's below his pay grade.

Bob in PA is still ignoring the fact that the President has pulled us back from the abyss the Republicans brought us to, saved the American car industry, (I drive a Ford, but we need GM) got the middleman out of student loans, passed the most sweeping health care reform in 100 years, ended the descriminatory DADT policy, oh heck, let's not belabor the point.....
The amazing thing is that he did it with a very hostile Republican minority which voted "NO" on anything proposed by the Presiden, even things they thought were GREAT under Bush.
So I guess Bob and Four and the Door, and gt will all have plenty of time to feel sorry for themselves ....... another 5-1/2 years at least.

More carbon footprint for a person that wants everyone to suffer so he can get his green agenda through. How about staying in DC and work on jobs and getting gas back down; oh I know you want gas to go higher since we will have to use less for your green agenda while you fly around in AF1 leaving your big carbon footprint.

Attn MH: No voting for the GOP won't let the country go to the dogs. Instead all the GOP supporters will be too busy picking fruits and vegetables and grapes in the vineyards of the rich after they finish getting rid of all the legal/illegal immigrants. Remember it was GWB who said it best "there are jobs, it's just that most people don't want them". GOP supporters are no more than indentured servants supporting the rich and will never share in the wealth.

It's kind of funny how many GOBP birthbaggers come here to spout off about the President "doing his job" without any proof that he isn't. I wonder if they were also complaining about all of Bush's vacations? Hmmmmmmm..........
