Washington (CNN)- Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will reunite with an old flame…in TV land. Tina Fey announced Thursday, on NPR's "The Leonard Lopate Show," that the Stanford University political science professor will make her star turn in an upcoming episode.
Jack Donaghy (played by Alec Baldwin) name-dropped Rice as his ex-girlfriend throughout the first season of NBC's "30 Rock" and it appears she will debut in "a couple weeks" as the fictional executive's former flame.
Calling Rice's spot an "amazing cameo," Fey lifted the veil on guest spot coordination saying, "Every now and then we hear that someone wants to come, but…usually we try and do it where we write the part first so that we have something good to offer them, because all actors like to see, you know, a juicy part."
Rice will be going where few political power players have gone before. Former Vice President and Nobel Prize winner Al Gore has appeared in a guest role on "30 Rock," but former President Bill Clinton turned down an opportunity to appear on the show.
