(CNN) – Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin challenged GOP leaders to “fight like a girl” Saturday at a Tea Party Tax Day rally in Madison, Wisconsin. Unafraid to “take on the GOP establishment,” she offered suggestions to garner Tea Party support.
“If you stand by your platform, if you stand by your pledges, we will stand with you, we will fight with you, GOP, we will have your back,” she declared.
The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee heralded Madison as an example for Republicans to follow by recalling the Wisconsin legislature’s approval of a controversial bill that restricts the collective bargaining rights of unions.
“I’m in Madison because this is where real courage and real solidarity can be found,” she said.
“You saw these violent rent-a-mobs trash your capital and vandalize businesses. You held your ground. Your governor did the same thing. And you won.”
Palin defended Gov. Scott Walker’s union-limiting legislation because “he understands that states must be solvent to keep their promises” and “a pension is a promise that must be kept.”
And the possible 2012 GOP nominee hopeful painted events in Madison as a lesson Republicans can learn from. Criticizing GOP leaders for promising to cut $100 billion in federal spending but compromising at $38 billion in the recent bipartisan budget agreement, Palin said, “That’s not courage, that is capitulation.”
She also had strong words for the president, blasting him for getting the country into a “third war” it can’t afford, cutting off oil development and “misrepresenting” deficit spending.
“You ignored us in 2010,” she said. “But you cannot ignore us in 2012.
And to the crowd gathered in Madison, Palin promised a place in history.
“When the history of the Tea Party is written, what you accomplished here will not be forgotten. And the 2012 election begins here,” she affirmed.
To drive the point home, Palin recalled the Green Bay Packers’ 2011 Super Bowl win, saying, “What better place to call out the liberal left and let them know, Mr. President, game on!”
Fight like a quitter?
Why would a person want to comment on the ramblings of a Former IDIOT GOV.?
Palin is yesterday's news, Bachmann is today's news. Palin has sound bites, Bachmann has ideas. Tell Sarah her fifeteen are over.
that's it Sarah, keep on running your mouth so the GOP will LOSE the election. Keep talkin', Tootsie.
Boehner: "I can do that."
More like "Learn how to fight like a dumb girl"
Yeah, "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"
Miss-information strikes again. Collective bargaining rights have nothing to do with balancing the budget. The unions already agreed to the cuts and pay-ins that the governor had requested (even though his deficit was caused by tax cuts to millionaires). Then again, one can't expect honesty from a third-rate political hack like Palin.
For God Sake stick a sock in this idiot's mouth.
Democracts fight like a man not a girl,
Jerseys Shores is going to run the GOP party now??
But wait a minute, but the tea party and the GOP are attacking every Women's rights to health care?
I'm getting soo confused..
Instead of fighting, learn to act like a decent human being. Do something about getting your family to stop shaming you.....if it is possible for you to feel shame.
what an insult to all women she just claimed. Here is a woman that QUIT her job telling someone to "fight like a girl". Does that mean not confront people and hollar insults from FoxNews, FaceBook and Twitter? Well that is how Sarah fights. Her numbers are in the tank, more people are seeing she's a "paper tiger" and the thrill is gone. One thing Palin said on her India trip I do agree with is when she said some Republicans were like "sheep", following anything and everything without much thought behind it. I'm sure those sheep were the ones at that rally today.
Aren't the Tea Party people also members of unions? How can they keep fighting against their own best interests? They are apparently an ignorant bunch, and the GOP knows this better than anyone else. That's why they keep pandering to them.
How can a QUITTER give advice on how to win? She didn't fight AT ALL when it came to being Governor. She QUIT.
CNN, please stop reporting anything about airhead Palin. it is immoral to report the gafs of a special needs person. we all know she is brain dead person and you need to stop making fun of her. its not right. shame on you. and you dear Palin, just go home and stay there and just live in piece in your wonderland.
Half term governor Surveyor Sarah the twitter teetin twit wants the republicans to cry and pout. That's nothing compared to what it will be after the election. When the history of the Tea Party is written it will be Madison that brought out the fact that the Tea Party has become a division of Koch Corp. It brought out their true intentions to destroy public education, infrastructure and the middle class, all for the profit of corporations.
“If you stand by your platform…” which has already fallen
“…if you stand by your pledges…” and quit with the stalling
“… we will stand with you…” guys with your skirts and curls
“… we will have your back…” GOP, just FIGHT like the girls!!!
Yup, just be girls Boehner, Mittens, Cantor, Barbour, Santorum, Pawlenty, ginGRINCH, Cain and all others that are acting like BOYS that should be MEN! Follow the “empty-head” women from the far-right and you will be just fine!!!!
Why does this Palin person demand so much undeserved attention? Those at the rally today could not hear her because the boos of the non- Tea Party folks drowned her out with their boos and the Tea Party was outnumbered over five to one. Why doesn't CNN report that – it's much more relevant than anything she has to say. Where is balanced reporting? Why do crackpots like Palin and Trump have every word they say reported when they are not serious candidates?
Oh Sarah .......Your "Girl" days are far far behind you. And so are your political dreams.
She only stands by her pocketbook. And if I were her, I would not my name to be in the history books, but she certainly will be mentioned, and not the way she would want them to read.
Palin, you are an idiot. You don't impress anyone with half a brain. Your faux bravado is laughable at best. Go home.
And history will validate that this is nothing but a hysterical bunch of bored people who have nothing to do but whine and bow to the queen of "whinery".
I am so tired of Palin.
this is so foolish that it's hard to even know where to start...
