Bachmann joins GOPers distancing themselves from birther issue

(CNN) – Conservative Rep. Michele Bachmann Wednesday joined a growing list of Republican politicians and strategists distancing themselves from the "birther" issue that questions where President Barack Obama was born.

The issue is causing a split on the political right, with Donald Trump and some conservatives continuing to challenge Obama's constitutional eligibility to be president based on the contention that he was born outside the country.

Too late. They've already painted themselves a fringe lunatics. It took them too long to listen to Rove.

Does this mean that Sean, Rush, Glenn and several others will have to back pedal, flip-flop, or eat their words? Yes, but it will never happen. They will simply never mention it again, not if they can help it, just like it never happened. That's something, which should be pretty easy to do on your own show with your own invited guests and your own script.

Yet this irresponsible excuse for a US Congresswoman can not wait to vote against the debt ceiling. I sure hope the voters of the MN. 6th congressional district wake up and boot this clown from office in 2012.

Well, at least they're trying to get their act together and shake some sense into themselves. It sounds like somebody has started to figure out they have been reading the from the wrong playbook. They cannot find the right one. They seem to have lost it. They keep picking up discarded ones filled with doomsday scenarios.

It seems like the looney left and their minions in the Lame Stream Media are the ones that keep this story alive. THEY are the ones that keep asking about it. Just like they're hyping of Sarah Palin as a candidate when she isn't. Talk about manipulating the media and American people. I guess when you're policies have been an abject FAILURE you have to use this type of smoke and mirror strategy to keep people off the real important issues, like high unemployment, sky rocketing gas prices, sky rocketing food prices, the latest Obama war, etc.

Wow, is she trying to look like a serious candidate? I cannot wait until Obama easily sweeps back into office and all these idiots can just go home.

"Well, then that should settle it," Bachmann, a favorite of the conservative Tea Party movement, said on seeing the document. "I take the president at his word."

After which, she will go on FOX News and once again proclaim that Obama should be required to show his real *Certificate of Birth*, thus ensuring millions of more dollars directed to her PAC fund coffers from the looney Birthers.

She can distance herself all the way to Pluto (her home planet), but this spacey ditz can't separate herself from her past. Let's face it folks, you can't fix stupid, and the GOP is filled to the brim with stupid people like Bachmann, Palin, Gingrich, etc.

She is just too much of a slimy politician for my liking. She even gives politicians a bad name and that takes some doing

You must give Bachman credit. She's a "good old girl".

Once again, I am treated to a real belly laugh by some right wing kook that thinks the MEDIA ("Lamestream"..how original) is driving this issue when you've got Mr Combover spewing it daily, and some in the GOP now trying to distance themselves. As for the other points, try again loon. Gas ALWAYS goes up in the summertime (just like when Duh Duh Duh-bya was President) and the war is HIS, not Obama's. HE started them both and now Obama has to clean up his mess. And in case you weren't paying attention (which we know you weren't because you spout Faux Snooze talking points), unemployment is down, the market is up.

A Correction...Obama's war as noted is Libya, which I believe many on the right were very much gung-ho to take on Khaddafy..EXCEPT once we were engaged and then it's "we question the president"
