Washington (CNN) – The Democratic National Committee raised $20.6 million in the first three months of the year, besting its Republican counterpart by close to $3 million, according to new documents filed with the Federal Elections Commission.
The DNC now has $9.7 million cash on hand while carrying more than $17 million in debt. That compares to the $3.2 million the Republican National Committee has on hand and the nearly $20 million debt it faces.
It is still very early in the process but it sure seems like the Democrats are already sweating about 2012. The RNC will get PLENTY of money to rid this country of the leftist Democrats in the Whitehouse and Congress. 2010 was just the BEGINNING of the cleanup process.
RNC is $20M in debt? And we want to trust them to help us get out of debt? Hmmmm. Let's think that one through.
DNC is in debt too...so no excuses there. But at least they aren't as far in debt...and they aren't screaming about the national debt in the same way the political right is screaming.
This trend just might continue but it made me realize a conundrum. Private business and corporations can make unlimited donations in complete anonymity.
As the economy strengthens, then the corporations may have more to donate to Republicans. As the economy strengthens, then the chances of Obama winning re-election probably increase. And vice-versa. I find that to be quiet interesting.
With the Supreme Court ruling last year that US Corporations (whether made up of US entities or foreign owned – think about it..) can donate UNLIMITED funds to the candidate's marketing of their choice, is their any doubt that the Republican candidate(s) will receive all the money they need to push their industry or agenda?
DNC always does better than RNC when it comes to $
Face it folks – The Koch brothers will donate more than any other entity TO THE REPUBLICANS. This is a smoke-screen article just like most others by the all-republican-all-the-time CNN.
True – the Koch brothers will donate millions, if not more, to the Republicans. Who else will we see funding the GOP in a big way? The oil industry, pharma, Wall St., big banks, and the war industry. The Republican party is a virtual puppet of big industry, and if they get elected, all these corporations will be milking the American public for every dime of their savings.
I'm sure the unions will be throwing hundreds of millions of their members money DOWN THE TUBES by supporting the Democrats in 2012. The corrupt circle of power and money...
Donald Trump may be America's last hope for keeping a lying snake, like Barack Obama from turning America into a totalitarian country, with Obama as it's dictator. Obama is trying to restrict and limit political competitors from raising campaign money ... while at the same time, Obama is raising a BILLION dollars for his own reelection campaign. I would choose a billionaire, who loves America, and who earned his own money, any day, over a duplicitous America hater, who destroys our rights and freedoms, as the means to increasing his own power !!!
