(CNN)-Republican Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal raised $1.7 million for his campaign war chest in the first quarter of this year, according to reports filed with the Louisiana Ethics Administration.
And though he doesn't yet have a challenger for his gubernatorial re-election race, the incumbent governor has $9.5 million in cash on hand to spend in preparation for the October 22 primary.
Shortly after the one-year anniversary of the BP oil spill in the gulf, support for Jindal comes in from over 8,400 individual contributions in 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. He spent $1.3 million in the first fifteen weeks of 2011.
But if he had any presidential hopes, and Jindal has indicated that he does not, he cannot use the funds to launch a campaign to seek the GOP nomination, according to federal election law.
Louisiana, a miserabile state with a muslim indian governor from illegal aliens parents. Sad, very sad.
Oh – just so all of you know, with regarid to Louisiana's Birther Bill, YES – our state legislature is definitly stupid enough to pass it. Our state legislature would rather expend taxpayer dollars on a long drawn out court battle that ultimately ends in the law being unconstitutional instead of spending that money on education and healthcare. Remember, in Louisiana especially, the Repubs do not want a literate electorate.
Hey Bobby, how about you use the money your collecting for you re-election campaign to fund some of the shortfalls in our budget?????? No, that's too much like right!!!! The sad thing is the uneducated and uninform will re-elect this loser and further I downfall of the this state!!!!!! That's the truth
Where was he born? Is he a Muslim? Does his wife hate America? Does he play golf, and ever take vacations?
But, why won't he release his birth certificate?
lol...wow, democrats in here prove over and over again that they are, indeed, the dumbest creatures to ever roam the earth. BP paid $20 billion dollars after the spill to who? Jindal? Nope....to BigEars Barry. And how much of that money has Barry used to help out the people of LA? A few million. What happened to the rest of that money? Good question. Will anyone in the media ask Barry? Of course not. Also, gasoline prices are at record levels in this country and the oil companies are making record profits. That has always been democrat's basis for chirping about republicans "ties to big-oil". Well then, apparently Barry and the big oil companies are really, really tight because he is obviously doing everything he can to raise the cost of gasoline and ensure record profits for his big oil friends.
Some pretty sad and pathetic that the leftists on this board won't admit that the Democrats running Lousiana when Katrina hit were responsible for the deaths of many people. Refusing to evacuate New Orleans as a cat 4 hurricane bears down on you? Pure insanity. But that is what we have come to expect from Democrat politicians in Loiusiana and around the country.
The comments above made me realize the sad truth that democrats would be no better than republicans if the table was turned around, and a black (or south-asian, for that matter) republican born in Hawaii would be in the Oval office. I am afraid a big part of our nation on both sides of the political spectrum are just angry bigots who will ignore the facts and repeat any nonsense if it fits their narrow-minded beliefs. Let Obama's health plan pay for free brain transplants. There are lots of folks out there who could use one.
He is the Anti-Christ. The Pope told me.
Where is Piyush Amrit "Bobby" Jindal's long form birth certificate? Why is he afraid to show it to America for review? Why has he spent millions trying to seal his records and cover up his past? Why is he trying to force Hindu law on the patriots of Louisana?Lets see his college transcripts, so we can determine if he is truly qualified. What is he trying to hide?
