Trump takes credit for Obama birth certificate

(CNN) – Donald Trump is taking full credit for the release of President Obama's birth certificate.

"I am very proud of myself. I have accomplished something nobody else has accomplished," he told reporters in New Hampshire Wednesday.

"I want to look at it, but I hope it's true," the business mogul also said. "He should have done it a long time ago."

"I am really honored to have played such a big role in hopefully getting rid of this issue," added Trump.

The President didn't have to release birth certification. This is like calling people of color a 3/5th of a human bean.

Trump is an idiot. He has done more harm for Republicans than Democrats could ever have done.

This will have ZERO impact on the percentage of people who believe he's ineligible to be prez.
Nothing will change their simple, intolerant, uneduucated minds.
Next up: Cert is forged; (_______________); etc.

Donald Trumps says China is taking advantage of everyone and they have all our jobs. Someone should ask him who makes his wifes top selling jewelry line for QVC. You guessed it! China!

It only happens in America that we make billionaires out of idiots. Those people think rest in the country and world are idiots like them.

To be proud of getting a long form birth certificate is really stupid. To be proud that you were able to get an Ivy League education unlike the current president is again really stupid. These are not the important causes that we need to worry about as a nation. If these are the issues to this man...you can probably figure out how I feel about this man. He's...yup.... The sad thing is there are elitists and birthers through out the nation who believe these are important things and love him for it. I still don't understand why the states have the right to make birthers' laws....

I used to like Mr. Chump! Taking credit for what? Is this what the Republican Party is all about? It's people like this that are going to destroy what the USA is all about. This reminds me of the idiot running for office in Texas that stated "He hated the US Flag". The Flag symbolizes the Blood that was sacrificed, so people like this can speak their minds. What a bunch of Boneheads! I can see Russia from my porch, you betcha! OORAH!

Trump is a pinhead. He should take credit for his ego, but we all know he does that. rump and the birthers (and the college transcript whiners are the face of moronic modern conservatism – they aren't SMART enough to debate any issues, so they fill the airwaves with tabloid nonsense to appeal to the "base" of cousin-marrying racist idiots. Any party that celebrates stupidity like this – and I mean the GOP – is not fit to lead. If you bote Republican because you believe this nonsense, you really aren't qualitfied to make a rational electoral decision. Stupidity and ignronace is NOT something for which you should be proud. It just yields candidates like Sarah Palin – who is making money off her bozo supporters who believe she is remotely viable as apolitical candidate. Suckers!

Trump, a representative of conservative values, is a racist. That he is taking credit for promoting institutionalized bigotry is disgusting. I'm terrified about what will happen in the middle of the century when Whites are no longer the majority race.

I would say after that display of government control over CNN is impressive. Look how they cut Donald Trump off. They didn't like what he was saying. That should be the story. The birth certificate is one thing, but the trueth about the situation of our country is another.

The media perpetuated this myth because this idiocy drives ratings. You can't get a driver's license without confirmation of your citizenship or permanent residency. You can't get a passport without proving that you are a U.S. citizen. Obama was a Senator and Sentators have security clearances meaning a full background check was completed on him years ago. The President has a Top Secret security clearance meaning that the government knows everything about you...including where you were born and if you are lying about anything. The media should have made clear the amount of background checks required to hold a top level government job. But they didn't. They let the racist birthers fester with their stupidity and helped to let that foolishness fester instead of educating the public with truthful reporting as is their job.

I love the Donald, but I think he was pushing it. it pisses me off that the Donald would stoop so low. this goes back to a very long history-when blacks born in America where treated as foreing. I dont know the Donald, very well but the way he went about it seemed a bit racist. why is Obama's citizenship so important. is the American political system so incompetent that it would elect a foreign born American citizen? so when people go on and on about Obama's citizenship it just make me think that they have no faith in their political system. that's so sad that people like the Donald makes it so hard for young people like me to break the shackle of the past. Racism might not be what it use to be, but people like Donald Trump just keep reinventing the wheel. I am glad the president took care of it and shut the Donald up. President Obama is a strong individual to have to put up with people like the Donald and not loose his cool.

This is totally ridiculous. No other sitting President had to prove their place of birth. There has been 43 Presidents prior to electing the First African American President and no where in history has the birther issue arose. When are we as people going to move past racism. Not just towards African Americans, but all Nationalities.

Furthermore, there have been Six other U.S. President's with a Foreign-Born Parent.

Andrew Jackson (1829-1837) is the only president born of two immigrants, both Irish. Presidents with one immigrant parent are Thomas Jefferson (1801-1809), whose mother was born in England, James Buchanan (1857-1861) and Chester Arthur (1881-1885), both of whom had Irish fathers, and Woodrow Wilson (1913-1921) and Herbert Hoover (1929-1933), whose mothers were born respectively in England and Canada.

Why not have Donald Trump address his many bankruptcy and how the banks bailed him out.

I am truly shocked and embarrassed that our President has been so disrespected. I travel to Europe frequently and the fact that something like this would receive news coverage in Europe is truly embarrassing to our country. There are so many serious problems in America that should be talked about, but instead Trump and the media want to focus on this birth certificate nonsense. I am not African-American but even I can see that this is about our President's ethnicity and skin color. Trump is pandering to all the bigots and racists of America and he is only doing this for monetary gain. I pray that all this hatred he is inciting does not trigger another incident like the Arizona shooting. We need to all come together if we want to solve our problems. All this division is only going to make things worse and will take the focus off the real issues. Trump, please go away!!!

Well, now all the racists who originally thought maybe he was born in a foreign country for no reason but his skin color will have to find some way to convince themselves that he was still born in a foreign country... or is secretly a muslim.. or some other crazy thing. Yes, the president did ignore this tiny group of idiots for a few years and refused to release his birth certificate in the form they demanded after the other form wasn't enough for them... but ask yourself... why did they doubt his birth in Hawaii in the first place.. BEFORE he had a chance to not release the certificate? Oh yeah... brown skin and a funny name.

Its a shame that when USA is facing so many crucial important issues like wars unemployment economy, you are bringing up such petty issue.Politics never stooped to such low level. Rich Republicans(like you &Bush) have ruined America.
Rich People don't give a damn about common people. If President Obama wants to do something for ordinary people you don't like it.

Please STOP this nonsense !! President Obama is a man of integrity. He has no reason to fabricate anything. As the song goes, 'Born in the USA'. Mr. Trump is very irritating. The more he talks the more I get turned off. His 'running at the mouth' brings him TV ratings for his show. That's all! Does he ever actually listen to himself. Someone needs to tape his ramblings and play them back to him! Lot's of HOT AIR !!! May I ask, Mr. Trump, for you to immediately produce you tax returns for the last 5 years? Thank you
