(CNN) - DNA matching is under way on samples from the body of slain terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden, a U.S. government official told CNN on Monday.
There are photographs of the body with a gunshot wound to the side of the head that shows an individual who is not unrecognizable as bin Laden, the official said.

I hope Obama presses Pakistan as to why he was living in a mansion outside the capital in Pakistan. This is great news for America and hopefully will embolden our troops who continue to fight and keep us safe. Obviously, terrorism is not over, with, bu the so called figure head has been killed and I think Democrats and Republicans should come together and applaud our troops for finally getting him. As a Republican, I will be happy to congratulate Obama on this as well. Let's keep being diligent, because it may fan some flames for future attacks.

Thank goodness! Now we all have to remain vigilant as the President said, we don't know what is coming down the path in the next year. This is not over yet, we can't pull our troops home immediately, and we can't assume with Osama Bin Laden that Al Qaeda is no longer a threat. But this is a great feather in the President's cap.
